New MDA owner has couple questions

Hi guys,

I had the h6315 and loved it, but it was time to get a newer phone so i ve got the MDA yesterday.. I was able to change most settings but there 2 thing i would like to ask. On the bottom of MDA screen, there are 2 menus, one says Calender, and the other one is contacts. I want to change it but i cant figure out how to do it.. I also want to copy all my texts from my older Ipaq to this phone. Can someone help me with this?

Thank you
Yigit

first things first, sometimes you have to be patient when waiting for a reply, not only 3 hours.

anyways, to answer the questions. as far as i know you cant change the buttons from calendar and contacts, unless you use some sort of registry hack. i have had the phone for a while, and never seen an option to change them. i would like to also, but, like i said, i believe you need a reg hack.

as for doing a copy the texts, not sure if that is possible. if the ipaq is synced with your comp and is writing your contacts to outlook, then sync you mda to the comp and get tell it so sync contacts and whetever else you want. besides that, dont think there is another way.

if you google something like "softkey registry hack" i saw one earlier that tells how you can change the left one, but supposidly not the right, but then i saw another one that said you could. so, do some searching, and you might find something.

here, got the info for you about changing the soft keys

1. Download LNK.ZIP (from http://www.upload2.net/download2/61D...s/LNK.zip.html ) and copy Compose.lnk file to \Windows
2. Using ur Registry Editor goto "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113" (right key -- 112 is the left key)
3. Change the "Default" value to "Compose"
4. Change the value of the "Open" to "\windows\compose.lnk"
5. Save the modifications
