Dust....

You could try one of these...... :flamethrower: It would fix the dust problem, but you might not like the side effects.

Seriously, there aren't any great options for removing the dust. Most people have chosen to just have the unit replaced. T-Mobile has been doing this.

The other option, is to use compressed air (or a strong vacuum) to try and remove the dust through the stylus hole. The problem with this approach is that it can result in more dust behind the screen. I don't think you want to try and take the unit apart to remove it, as the screen is made of several layers. There is a high risk that you could damage something or end up with more dust with this approach.

I believe I would wait until they are shipping units with the new firmware, then have it replaced.

I wonder if PPC Techs are cleaning the screens when they upgrade the memory, I remember them doing this for the 3600 iPaqs. If the dust is getting too bothersome and you want more RAM, this might be the way to go.

PPC Tech can help

I spoke with PPC Tech today and they were willing to try and fix a dust problem. Their fee is $50 to remove the dust and try to seal it better than it is. If you do this in conjunction with a memory upgrade, the fee is only $25. You can contact them at PPC Tech.
