PDA2K & Skype

Hi All, I'm a newbie. I just purchased a PDA2K on Ebay. Its GREAT!
I have T-Mobile cell service and all is well. However, the reason I purchased the PDA2K was to be able to have one phone for cell service and Skype. The Skype service is not working. I have a D-link 2.4Ghz wireless router and Cox highspeed internet. I can connect with Skype, but no one can hear me. I hear them, but they don't hear me. I tried calling my land line and letting the answering machine answer. All I got was agarbled message. I can stand next to the router and it makes no differance. I'm able to connect to the internet and receive and send emails, but no Skype.
Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks All.

Yo Irwin. I just spent about a month in Kuala Lumpur, and Skype was an awesome way to call my wife every day without a $1000 cell bill.

Most of the Skype calls were from my laptop with a headset; these I found were very bandwidth-dependent. From a hotel with a T1 connection, the quality of sound and video was excellent. From another hotel, with ISDN speed (at the best), the video had to be off and the sound would stutter occasionally.

I also used my Qtek S200 (HTC Prophet) once in a while, like from wi-fi from a Starbuck's. Here the stuttering and dropouts were a constant thing, so I shelved it. I believe this poor performance is from the 200 mHz processor.

My wife's phone is the PDA2K. When she'd call me from a fast wi-fi connection, the sound was good, with only the occasional stutter. Similar to making a Skype Out call from a laptop, which is pretty good most of the time.

So I know the PDA2K will support Skype, and do a reasonable job of it. I would look to some other cause for your test issues; for example, bandwidth. Or, it sounds like you were using Skype Out, which I've found occasionally has poor performance caused by the "other end" computer which places the local teleco call.

I too am using T-Mobile, which I am 90% satisfied in North America, and 100% happy internationally. Their international service for me has been seamless and superb.

All the best, James

Your comments are very helpful. It may be my 802.11b wifi router. I will try it with a fast router. I too am very satified with Tmobile. I use Skype on a desk top to talk to South Africa twice a week. Its like a land line phone, Great!! It appears the only variable is the router. We'll see. Again, thanks for your comments.
Any comments or feedback from anyone else will be appreciated.

I had this problem with the same device. After a hard reset it was fine... just a random bug i expect.

I used skype with my xv6600, and cellular data would be choppy if I was in a 1x area, fine when I was in an evdo area
