I've just updated the Standardization site. The site now includes:

Radio ROM 1.15.00 for Both the Cingular and AT&T Variants of the SX66

And a New Beta Program that includes the 1.42.00 System ROM, and 1.42.126 Extended ROM.

Sweet! I was just compiling what I could find and decipher from the XDA Developer's Forum, and your description of several of the EXT ROM files was quite helpful. Thanks!

Do you remember last summer when you posted a description of the other files in the EXT ROM? Would you be able to do that again here in this thread, or in the EXT ROM section of your Standardization website? It would be nice to see what's what and what they're there for with all those EXT ROM files, especially for newbies.

Good to see you out there again. I've been using the new 1.15 radio rom, and it seems significantly better (even less static on bluetooth) than 1.13.

System 1.42.00 is a newer build of the 2003 environment. I would assume this means that MS has included patches they believe are neccesary. However, I have yet to get a list of things speifically addressed in the 1.42 ROM. But I'm still working on it.

As for what is in the 1.42.126 extended rom, here is the current release notes (as posted on the standardization site):

Due to a problem in the previous CAB, Magic Button did not show up in the remove programs list. This has been corrected. The file has also been renamed to correspond to the new file format for 3rd party applications (SX66-XXXXXX.CAB).

Extended ROM Tools - Cab file reworked
A icon DLL has been added to this cab, and the Radio Reset, and Get Device Data lnks now have "pretty" icons associated with them.

From the 1.42.XXX Extended ROM that shipped from T-Mobile UK. This cab is supposed to fix a issue where you can hear the person during a call, but the person can not hear you.

From the 1.42.XXX Extended ROM that shipped from T-Mobile UK. This is a version upgrade to the MMS 2.0.0.23 version that shipping in the 1.40.125 extended rom.

From the 1.42.XXX Extended ROM that shipped from T-Mobile UK. This cab adds cellular send and recieve fax capabilities. Note: you must have this option turned on from the cellular provider. At this time, Cingular US doesn't offer this function.

From the 1.42.XXX Extended ROM that shipped from T-Mobile UK. This cab offers updates to the wifi manger. It replaces RemoveWiFiLogo_140921.sa.cab from the 1.40.125 extended ROM.

From the 1.42.XXX Extended ROM that shipped from T-Mobile UK. This cab includes a PKZip application for the SX66.

I'm also playing with the idea of pulling the battery app out, and replacing it with psw metrix. It is a today screen add in, so it can be more easily swapped out for those who don't want it.

I have something somewhat silly for you to add to this EXT ROM. Let me start by saying I have played with this EXT ROM from tmo and combined some things from the old EXT ROM (1.40xxx). One thing I dont like is that cab that changes the theme and the clear type and the font size and all that stuff... However I do like the part of that cab that tweaks the registry for better performance. I would just like the preferences left alone, but the other tweaks added. Also I have a what I think is a cool new look for the splash screen.

You can change that under; Start > Settings > System > Screen > Text Size (TAB)

You will also see the clear type TAB there as well.

Lew, if you only knew the problems that some of my "custom graphics" have created. I've got people asking for less suggestive images in the rom, but you are the first that pushes the other way... And I must say, I like it. So, here is what I am going to do:

First, beta 2 of the 1.42.126 Extended ROM is going to seperate all the visual effects/changes into a seperate cab. This way, if you don't want it, don't install it.

Second, I am going to start a place on the site where I can post different custom splash screens. The push behind this is that you guys need to provide the screens you want, and I'll cab them, and post them for the world to use. This sound fair?

I like this idea! I like the idea of being able to select the customizable parts like that.
