Do you remember last summer when you posted a description of the other files in the EXT ROM? Would you be able to do that again here in this thread, or in the EXT ROM section of your Standardization website? It would be nice to see what's what and what they're there for with all those EXT ROM files, especially for newbies.

System 1.42.00 is a newer build of the 2003 environment. I would assume this means that MS has included patches they believe are neccesary. However, I have yet to get a list of things speifically addressed in the 1.42 ROM. But I'm still working on it.
As for what is in the 1.42.126 extended rom, here is the current release notes (as posted on the standardization site):

I'm also playing with the idea of pulling the battery app out, and replacing it with psw metrix. It is a today screen add in, so it can be more easily swapped out for those who don't want it.

I have something somewhat silly for you to add to this EXT ROM. Let me start by saying I have played with this EXT ROM from tmo and combined some things from the old EXT ROM (1.40xxx). One thing I dont like is that cab that changes the theme and the clear type and the font size and all that stuff... However I do like the part of that cab that tweaks the registry for better performance. I would just like the preferences left alone, but the other tweaks added. Also I have a what I think is a cool new look for the splash screen.

Lew, if you only knew the problems that some of my "custom graphics" have created. I've got people asking for less suggestive images in the rom, but you are the first that pushes the other way... And I must say, I like it. So, here is what I am going to do:
First, beta 2 of the 1.42.126 Extended ROM is going to seperate all the visual effects/changes into a seperate cab. This way, if you don't want it, don't install it.
Second, I am going to start a place on the site where I can post different custom splash screens. The push behind this is that you guys need to provide the screens you want, and I'll cab them, and post them for the world to use. This sound fair?

My SX66 is still running great on 1.40, but I might have to give 1.42 a shot during baby's naps He's exactly 6 months old today!

So, CONGRADULATIONS!!!! I so know what you are talking about when you say busy... I have three kids of my own, but I am on the downhill portion. The oldest is going to be a going to college in a year and a half, and then they start cycling out of the house every 2 years after that.
Unless you have a type A personality, or are looking for a fix, I'd stay on 1.40.00 for now. There is not that much that is compelling to do the upgrade at this point.

Well I'll stick with what's working for now then... I have a type "B" for baby brain personality at the moment, lol Wow, college seems like it's forever and a day away, but then I can hardly believe that my little guy is 6 months already so it's going by so fast!
I'm in trouble though... I've been reading about the Wizard this morning and it looks really nice! My SX66 has never given me a moment's trouble though so I really should just put the thought out of my head
I head back to work in April so maybe then... I can upgrade or play with 1.42 then!
Ok, here is what I do when I look/drool/crave the wizard. I remember it has the 200Mhz Omap cpu from TI, very simular to the Hp 6315 I had. Then I remember how damn slow the 6315 was...

P.S. Sad part is I am looking for a new weekend phone. I carry my SX66 M-F, but on the weekends I have been using a Motorola V220(idea is I play hard, and I don't want to break my nice phone). Well, the damn thing died on me, and I am now trying to get a used replacement on ebay. What a pain in the @ss. Anyone got an old GSM phone I can have for a song and dance??

FAN = foundation account number If your company/employer has an account with Cingular, you get equipment and bill/discounts. In a moment of weakness I bought it! It arrived yesterday and it's pretty nice after an evening of tweaks. Not exactly a speed demon but not nearly as bad as the 6315 (which I had and returned after 3 days way back when!)
I just last week gave my brother (who lost his phone, silly fellow) my old T610 that was sitting around for over a year gathering dust. I would have given it to you if I still had it, just a week too late in the asking!
Ah, actually i do have that. The company i work for does have a relationship with Cingular, so i get a 50% discount on hardware, but it is limited. I can only purchase one phone per account every 18 months. And the discount doesn't cover pda models, which i talked myself around when i got my sx66. I should be able to get a new phone now, but I just can't see paying for a 8125.
i did get another weekend phone last night. A moto V551, for a song on ebay. I am pretty happy with getting that one as it has bt, and there are some pretty nice mods for the OS available(as if i'd ever use a stock configuration). But thanks anyways.

As the instructions on the Stnd Project Page seemed very clear I went for it. My device settings now read: ROM - 1.42.00, Ext ROM - 1.20.115, Radio - 1.02.10 & BT Stack - 3900. ROM & BT seem OK but ExROM & Radio are not.
What did I do wrong? More importantly how can I get my settings to match the latest – 1.42.126 & 1.15? When I attempt to load the Radio I get this error using BAUpgrade tool "ERROR 103: ROM IMAGE NOT FOUND". Where do I go from here?
