I used the battery monitor from SPB-Plus. Resco 2005 has a today plugin with battery monitor as well, but it only shows the percentage left (not estimate power in Hrs. remaining)

I use the battery monitor bar that comes with iLauncher and it's good enough for me. One program that I have heard good things about is Batti: http://pda.jasnapaka.com/batti/ although I've never used it myself.

Has anyone had luck with the Windows Media 10 player sync ability with ACTIVE SYNC 4.1 and wmp10 on PPC and WinXP? I see the option but WMP10 doesn't see my sx66 as a syncable device.. any help would be appreciated.. followed all the steps in this thread to update.. working ok for now.
::IMO::
Pros: I noticed keypad looks much nicer.. phone function seems cleaner. The txt msg/system alerts look better. GUI spruced up. WMP10 a big Plus (though i had it on wm2003). All my old apps work great w/WM5 (beta player, adobe acrobat, pocket putty, vncview, winampaq, thunderhawk. Nicely done!
Cons: SX66 seems to be little slow typing txt msg's or anything w/the built-in Keyboard. I also noticed the keys would "stick" and replicate extra letters (examplllllllle) not sure why this is. Minimo running turtle slow though.. (Minimo is a Mozilla web browser for the PPC available here) well if anyone has any luck with that or any new bug fix's let me know.
plus what is everyone here doing for their web browser solution? theres a few options... none that are all impressive though, PIE is stable but limited, Thunderhawk is nice, but expensive (50$ a year!) no crack in sight, minimo is nice but big, and memory hog.

It works for me. I believe that you need to have a storage card larger than 32 MB in your device for syncing to work. Do you have an SD card?

Yes I have a 1GB sd card. Plus the Active sync just seems flat out flakey.. It will sync once(which takes FOREVER) then i undock it, and try to resync to no avail. I have to soft reset it just to sync again! ARGH.. any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Will be waiting a while longer, for now ive switched back.. too many flakey things in wm5. until they get worked out, i cant afford to keep rebooting this thing, syncing does not work well at all.
has anyone verified if the bluetooth works and if so does it work better than with the original OS?
I have tried numerous bluetooth headsets and the reception it good on my end but on the other end there is alot of static and noise. Has anyone had this problem and if so did you fix it?
Oh this is great...This was more exciting than modding my Xbox. And yes If your Siemens SX66 doesnt have a camera phone and you install the remove cam patch the SX66 speeds up

For many of you attempting this upgrade this very well may be a steep learning curve. I know it took me a few days of solid reading before i really began to grasp what was going on.
you're gonna need to read this five times before it makes sense. I would suggest taking a shot at upgrading your phone to newer cooked or baked wm3 roms first. After you get the hang of that and understand how the system works then move on to wm5 upgrades. Why? Well, you have to learn algrebra before you can do calculus.
You theoretically could upgrade to wm5 with no problems just following the directions, but if you know what you are doing you will be much better prepared to help yourself WHEN problems arise.
That way you will fully understand what it will take if you don't like it or if you botch something. It is much easier to upgrade than to downgrade! I doubt there will ever be any kind of autoinstaller for this. The blue angel does not have a large enough following with all the new phones coming out on the market.
Think about it from a business perspective. Based on how much your time is worth: If you put 20 hours into getting this phone working right over the course of the next week, or more likely, month, then you will already be halfway to the price of a newer model. Combine that with the money you will get from selling your phone and the decision to upgrade is easy.
Although if you just want to have some fun and a good learning experience, or your time isn't worth all that much then give it a shot. Just know your enemy.
As a newbie, I really appreciate your honest assesment of upgrading to WM5.
I'm staying with WM2003. I got started with this because I wanted a phone I could use for my T-mobile service and with Skype. I purchase a I-Mate PDA2K Now I'm hooked. It works great with T-Mobile, but not with Skype. Soooo, I'll wait for the next generation and try my luck. Thanks All
i noticed something i'd like to clarify. The last sentance of the second to last paragraph. "the decision to upgrade [to a new better phone] is easy."
Anyway, i upgraded to wm5 and have tried several different versions of the custom roms. The reality is, no matter what the enthusiasts say, it just isn't as stable as a stock wm5 phone. Hopefully it will be in the future, but as electronice decine 40% in value over the course of a year i'm shooting for a newer phone.
My biggest gripe is all the custom wm5 roms have problems with wlan and wifi.
I am going to probably keep wm5 though, despite of the problems, because of the persistent storage. Aka, when the battery completely dies you don't loose everything.
pls can anyone mail the link address to download the wm5 rom for siemens sx66,i tried doing that with a link in someone's post but it just asked me for a username and password, and i tried registering but it didnt work later on ernestndu565@gmail.com
