Problem with Activesync via WiFi with SPV M500
(The SPV M500 is also known as the Imate Jam, for those not in the UK / knowing about Orange as a telecom company and runs Pocket PC for mobiles)
I've just got one of these and am able to use Activesync 3.8 via USB, but am trying to do so via a WiFi connection, which I'm tearing my hair out struggling to do so. It's setup with an SD WiFi card and connects to my Linksys WAG54G ADSL modem/router with no problems - I can use the Internet on it via the router no problems at all.
The Linksys unit is setup for DHCP and gives the M500 an IP address.
I've never known anything quite so frustrating as this - when I try to synch from the M500, it barfs immediately with "Not connected" and the errors dialogue list, "Unable to connect. Verify your dialup or proxy settings are correct, and try again".
Now it seems from what I'm reading is that Activesync can be a cross between black magic and voodoo in trying to get working, so has anyone else got one of these things and got wireless activesync working ?
I'd really be grateful for help with this.
