How to remove active menu...

I too found the "O2 Active" menu rather crummy. Much preferred the "today" screen. If you want to stop the Active menu coming up on aftr a soft-reset, delete the "active.lnk" file in /windows/startup. This doesn't delete the app itself, but just the startup shortcut.

Hmmmmmmm, well I deleted the Active file and soft reset but doesn't seem to have made a lot of difference.

Removing the O2 icon from the menu bar

Does anyone know how to remove the O2 active icon from the menu bar at the top of the screen permanently? I deleted the program entirely from my xda II but apparently it took with it some of the programs that are bundled with O2 Active such as the Camera program.

Thanks!

David

Hello, there is a file in the windows/startup folder called "connections" if you move it from the start up folder you get rid of the o2 icon on the taskbar

Hope this helps

To get rid of the o2 stuff do the following.

1. Press the camera key and the power key together it should reset the phone.

2. when the start screen appears and it is about to load all the o2 stuff immediatly remove the battery then replace.

3. when you put the battery back on it should have removed all the o2 stuff.

(you will also loose all you data mind so back up!)
