Unhappy MDA PRO wont load

Hi,

Have a problem with my new mda pro.
Videos seemed to stutter, I found an option from an icon bottom right which talked about accelerating the video playback or something,
It had 3 options, OFF, TEST AND ON.
The ON was greyed out so I selected the TEST, it said it would do a soft reset, but if there were problems do another sift reset and it would revert back to original setting.

As you can see something did happen, and a soft reset does nothing to solve it.

I have also tried a hard reset with:

reset + power
camera + reset
and
camera + power + reset

anyone know a solution or has had the same problems ?

cheers

Hard reset method

Don't know if a hard reset will do anything for you, but this is what you do.

With the screen raised, hold down the two soft buttons (the ones just to the right/left of the call start and stop buttons) and poke the stylus in the reset hole.

This should reload the OS from ROM and give you a clean installation of your device.

Hi, I had a go but didnt seem to do anything apart from reset the screen.

(using the 2 grey rubber buttons next to the stylus slot and reset)

Thanks though.

p.s.
If I do the power, camera and reset, I get a screen saying serial (at top) and v1.00 (at bottom) but it thats all.

Soft buttons

The soft buttons are the ones inside the clamshell above the keyboard. They are usually marked with horizontal lines and are called soft buttons because the function changes depending upon which application is running. On the today screen they are specified as Calendar and Contacts.
Try pressing these with the reset and see what happens.

Yes my stupid mistake, got home last night and checked the manual, and realised that you were 100% correct.

I had mistakenly thought you meant the call buttons on the side of the mda and the grey rubber buttons... doh !!!

The hard reset you described did the trick, and got the mda por back on its feet. Thanks

Just need to install all the programs again but that is part of the fun.

Problem solved

Glad you're back up and running. Sadly the full reset is the last hope for all Microsoft powered devices, but at least it gets the job done.
