Angry XDA Exec and Pocket MSN

OK I am a newbie here and also to the XDA Exec.
The device comes preloaded with Pocket MSN.
I got one yesterday to replace my iPAQ 63XX.
I have got most things working and synched up.
However I am having a problem with Pocket MSN.
It fails to sign me in as me.

Error Message
"Pocket MSN sign-in failed. Tap here to try again."

I cannot sign into MSN Messenger directly either.

Error Message
"Logon to MSN Messenger Service failed because the service is not responding. Please try again later."

My email address is registered with Passport but is not a hotmail or MSN one but work fine with MSN Messenger etc on my PC and did with MSN Messenger on the iPAQ.
I have tried logging in with a friends Hotmail address and that works. Go figure!!!

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Ok here is an update.

The syptoms above were true when connected via wireless at home or via the USB synch cable (although I could still access the internet via IE, and therefore assumed the connection was ok)

I am continuing to try today whilst at work and am connected via GPRS.

I can still not log into Pocket MSN with either account but can login directly to MSN Messenger and Hotmail.

I hope I am making some sense here....

I thought you had to pay a subscription fee to use Pocket MSN. I got irritated with the constant display of the option, so I removed it from my Today screen (via Settings -> Today -> Items).

not with WM5, it comes with the device, you have to pay to get the .CAB for WM2003 devices

I have had similar problems with connection to Pocket MSN messenger. Occasionally I have problems getting connected and get the same messages as thompst, I also don't use a hotmail address, but once connected the problems don't stop. When I'm in the middle of a chat, I seem to lose the thread and have to exit and restart the chat session before any feed comes through. I have SPB GPRS monitor installed and wondered if this is interfering with the connection status or is it just another Microshaft service issue.
