Some thoughts after a week

Thank you Microsoft for the final release of AS 4.1! It works!

I was getting worried that the new AS was a disaster but the new one works great. I have synced with no trouble from the USB and Bluetooth connections with only normal permissions from ZoneAlarm (no special setting needed-unlike 4.0 and early build 4.1).

The registry hack that activates Voice Command from the BT headset is AMAZING!! YAHOOOOO! Works better than I could have ever hoped for and it now allows me to hear my GPS commands without chopping off the first few words.

If you want to add a wall charger all you need is a USB B to Mini USB cable and a 5 volt USB output charger. I got a Sony charger from Best Buy that works fine with a retractable cord. If the charger is rated less than 1.5 amps then you might need to turn off the screen then plug it in for the charge to work.

A little dissapointed that the OS is a little slow. My Ipaq 6315 was faster in few areas but I can live with it. Most annoying is the dialpad and how slow it takes the numbers entered (seems like it can handle only one keystroke a second)

I am flying to San Diego the first week of December to lend EB Cases(.com) my JasJar for a couple of days so they can design a case. I hope they can get one done quick....I really miss clipping it to my belt and have the protection EB Cases have given all of my other phones.

More to come.............

Regards,
Gordo

JASJAR Slow

I saw this response elsewhere regarding the JASJARs being slow and tips to speed it up.

To speed thing-up:
- Disable error erporting from Settings/Error Reporting
- Delete the Virus s/w
- Turn-off Beam (also from settings)

Remove all third-party apps as I sound some that use the Today screen really slow down the device.

Finally I found the O2 XDA Exec in Corporate mode ran much faster than the I-Mate ROM. Have a look here for more tips: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=31697

The above is what was posted. I was researching the JASJAR my husband recently purchased.
