So far I've been having good experiences. T-mobiles coverage for my area is great and I used the bluetooth modem program (found here in the forums BTW) to tether to my Sch i730 and I'm getting what feels like 1X data speeds. It's a lot easier to post with the JasJar than with the thumboard on the SCH i730.
The JasJar is not EDGE-capable, so you will be restricted to GPRS-speeds of, say, 20-40 Kbps, in North America. To check your actual speed at any time go to:
Only if you could get a hold of a SIM- or USIM-card from a foreign provider that supports UMTS, would you be able to get UMTS-speeds (say, 300-400 Kbps), while in Western Europe, parts of Asia and the Middle East, on the 2100-MHz UMTS-networks that have been built there. See:
Received my Qtek today and this thing is NOT as big as people claim. It also feels great and looks good. Can this jasjar,Qtek be down graded to windows 2003SE? Please say YES! If so how do I get it to bootloader?
THX
EDIT: Just upgraded the Qtek with the suggested O2 exec pro Rom and this thing flys, very nice! The reception works better that I can now make calls from my dungen (my room, very bad for cell phones).
I have another xda so I will be selling one of them. If anyone is interested please see the "garage sale" here in pdaphonehome.
Is anyone in the US still using these. My choices are this and the i730.
I REALY like the format and screen size, but am worried about the phone compatability issues.
Thanks
Joe
