I've tried several different searches this morning to no avail, so here's a new thread ...

I can view my INBOXes via IMAP without problem (GMail, COX, two personal domains, etc). However, if I try to view anything in the SENT ITEMS or in the SPAM folders via IMAP, nothing ever shows. Just empty folders. However, once I get to my home PC email client (T-bird) or to someplace where I can access email via the web ... I find all the messages in those folders I expect to find.

Does anyone know why I might not be able to see anything in any folder besides INBOX via IMAP?

have you tried syncing the folders in question?

Yes. Make sure you're subscribed to those folders on your phone, and also, if you're thinking of a Gmail IMAP account, your Gmail Sent folder is actually under [Gmail]/Sent Items, IIRC. I know it's not in the standard place.

Ditto for all special Gmail folders like Trash, Spam, even All Mail, etc. All your Labels will show up as normal IMAP folders, but those are different. Your other IMAP accounts should be normal, though.
