What application do I need to create programs for PPC?

Had an idea for an application I could create. Was wondering what program do I use.

I have a old copy of VB 6 setting at home somewhere.

Thanks
Steve

There's a reason why so few apps for the PPC are freeware - you have to buy the SDK from Microsoft. Requires Visual Studio 2005 SE or 2005 .NET or above. You won't be writing VB for WM5/6 anytime soon, that's for sure.

Actually the SDK is a free download, just do a google search for "Windows Mobile 6 SDK" and you should get the download. However, to really get anything out of them you will need to get a copy of Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 (2008 is currently in beta an available for free, and works just fine for application development).

You can also get Visual Studio 2005 C# Express at:

Visual C#

I don't know if you can write .Net Compact Framework programs with it or not. I use Visual Studio for work, but C# Express is a nice, free (and legal) program to use at home.
