Features that should be built in WM
I have to say that overall I do like Microsoft but they do not seem to listen to feedback regarding their WM OS.
I am amazed how quickly MS has blazed through to WM 6.5 now.
However, I asm completely clueless why Microsoft does not implement the following featues which seem like a no brainer:
1. Have a bar just like phone alarm that shows the number of missed calls, text messages, emails, voicemails, etc on the one light with the options to customize the alerts. I personally think they should buy the Phone Alarm from the developer and implement it into Windows 6.5 or later. I do know 6.5 does have a screen that shows those things but it is not nearly as nice as Phone Alarm.
2. Create the featues of Photo Contacts Pro or other programs. Photo Contact Pro has a great view especially for showing pictures of people with the name and company info in large print or the company logo. However, the call screening features is what I like best. WM 6.5 and later should have the ability to screen calls and set whatever rules you want. For example, I set it to hang up on known telemarketers, go straight to voicemail on low priority clients, or make a loud ring when a client on contract calls. The profiles are top notch on Photo Contacts pro.
3. They need to do away with that bubble icon that alerts you of more items. It is annoying to have to unlock the phone and then click on the more icon just to see the phone icon or whatever. The information shoujld always appear on the screen without having to click on the bubble.
4. MS needs to take a close look at the SPB Phone additions as they completely change the appearance of WM and make it so much better than Microsoft.
5. A good alarm clock built in. I use SPB Time because it has multiple timers which I can use to keep track of billable time as well as a perfect alarm that has never failed.
I just think these features are must have for what is a business device. Lets face it, moist people with Windows Mobile phones use it for their business and connect to an exhcange server.
Microsoft also needs to address the issue of where it is nearly impossible to get some of the newer WM 6.1 phones to work with Exchange 2003 SP2. It has been improved with 2007 but most companies are still on 2003.
I am sure there have been threads like this in the past and I am sure other people have ideas of what should be built in.
I do enjoy tweaking my phone and getting it just right and then use SPB Backup to save the image. However, it sure would be nice to have the above mentioned functionality built into the ROM so it takes up less of the program memory!
How does everyone else feel about WM?
