Question Help!: Windows Mobile 2003 not updating to March 2008 DST

Hey guys, Microsoft is a being neglectful it seems of its updates to daylight savings time. I'm running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Version 4.21.1088(Build 14235.2.0.0). I live in Pacific Time ( GMT - 08:00 ).

So my computer updated fine, my outlook 2007 updated fine but my PPC 6600 remains behind by one hour. It also shifts ALL my appointments back one hour.

Has anybody experienced this; is there a solution? Attached is the microsoft support article for the march 2008 dst update. ( they only included WM 5 + 6)

I finally found the solution!!!!

Evocat,

I have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure this one out. I too have a device (Ipaq Pocket PC) running Windows Mobile 2003, and I finally found the Microsoft patch (the third I had tried) that resolved the issue. You can find it here:

Download details: Windows Mobile Updates for Daylight Saving Time (Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC)

Note on the instructions that you have to save the files to your device, and then run it from your device. I basically saved it to the My Documents Folder that syncs with my device, synced the device to transfer the file, then disconnected it. I then ran the file on my device (at which point it disappeared from the My documents folder), did a soft reset, and synced it with my PC. And, voila'! it finally was on the proper time zone and the correct time.

Do make sure, however, that any appointments between now and when the old DST would have taken effect (early April) are not off by one hour. This was the case for me, but I had messed with so many things to fix this that I am not sure it will be the case for everyone.

Good luck!!!
