Hm, I looked into this, and you're right. The actual WM6 Standard/Professional SDK is free, but it works with any version of Visual Studio EXCEPT the free Express versions. Or, at least, in the SDK release notes, they say VS Express is "not supported."
Anyone have any actual experience developing like this? Nikhil, you might look into this; you can download Visual Studio 2005 Express in chunks (C++, C#, J++, Web Developer, etc) for free, then get the WM6 SDK for free, might work (although with the Express versions of VS, I'm sure the documentation will be skimpy).
