hello everyone, new user here. stumbled on this site while playing around on my new
Mogul 6800 while searching for something when this site came up. unfortunately, i had to come home on my pc to get registered and stuff because on the
Mogul the print on the site was to small to read and during registration your asked for code that shows and it didnt show up clearly on the
Mogul's screen. anyway......
first off, this is my very first pda phone. come to think of it, i have no idea what pda means anyway
i got the phone for something different and the way it looked. i liked the sliding keyboard feature and touch screen--everything. ive always had a basic flip style phone and never had anything like this. its a whole different world with this
Mogul than what im used to. I had plain old nextell/sprint service and i jumped over to the sprint only side because its supposed to be a better cell signal. sprint pretty much gave me the $400.00 phone for nothing so i went for it.
having the phone for a week now, theres just a few minor things that i DONT like about it so far. from what im used to from other phones is the camera/picture/send feature that you can do. On other phones when you take a picture and want to send it to another phone, all you have to do is send it from the option you get right away after the pic. is taken. You can send it in a text message, email, etc. Now keep in mind, being that this is my only experience with a pda, maybe this isnt something thats normal, but i dont see why it wont let me send a pic to another phone via text message. sure, it will let me send it to an email addy, but not through a text msg. why?? I mean, lets face it--pics on a phone arent all that great and although this one has a 2.0meg pix camera, it still is crappy when viewed by pc or any other outlet other than another phone. dont make sense to me why you cant send a pic through text messages. is there a way to do this by some 3rd party software you can get for the phone??
Another thing i dont like, which is minor of course, is the ringtone volume. its not as loud as other phones. the basic tones on the phone are nice, but ones that you can make and put on yourself arnt that loud. maybe its just me.
the salesman who sold me the phone had one as well. he had it set up to look and perform just like the
iPhone. he said he didnt remember where he got the program, but it was somewhere on a freewareppc.com site that i have yet to find. ive also seen screenshots on this site of that same program. where can i find it and is it as good as it is on the
iPhone itself?
as far as the internet goes on the phone, obviously sites look smaller and such and it is difficult to navigate around. some areas are in real tiny tiny print that you cant see, as this one is for example--and others dont show all of the content. is this normal for a pda? i know its not a laptop and maybe im expecting to much, but still. also, on some sites, when you go to click a link or a tab for something, nothing happens. it just sits there. is this normal as well? can you magnify areas of a website to make it larger and easier to read? i havnt found anything in the user manual for the
Mogul that says how to do all that so im pretty much figuring it out on my own.
is there anything i should know about a pda? any back door, super secret things you can do with the functions on the phone and such?
