PDA Researcher

I'm a research student with the Open University and long-time PDA user. So guess what my research is all about?

You guessed it....PDAs.

I've lurked many forums for some time because hope to be able to recruit participants for my web-based survey into PDA/Smartphone user preferences.

Trouble is, the forums have been so fascinating that I end up reading through all the threads and buying the recommended software for my own PDA!!!!!

Expensive hobby...but rewarding

I'm really impressed by the way everyone supports each other with tips and ideas in the forums. I'm just hoping that this positive attitude, and the fact that we're all just fascinated by the technology will get me some responses.

I'm hoping to put my survey live around 1st June. Interested?

Thumbs up

Many thanks for the advice. I've spent so long reading through the threads (and buying software which I have to say has been absolutely brill) that I'd forgotten this most important step.

I think so

But I guess that all depends on whether you think that's a problem or a good thing

On a slightly more serious note, there's a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm that is evident in these forums (addiction if you will ). Much research is conducted into the educational potential of PDAs which revolves around giving total novices a PDA, some software and some technical support. I think that we're missing a trick by not tapping into the knowldge of more experienced PDA users.

I hope to make a start with my preliminary study and then use what I find out to feed into my full PhD research project.

Can you imagine anything more fun than spending three years researching PDAs and Smartphones? I have every excuse to haunt the forums hourly!!!!
