sling box with 755p - any experience?

Does it work well? Do you like it? What exactly do I need (hardware and software) to set it up? T
I've got Sprint unlimited data plan
Thanks!

Love it! I picked up the Slingbox Pro. If you have a network connection close then you won't need their network adaptor. You'll also need to buy(this part sucks) the Palm viewer from the Slingbox site. You need a high speed connection to the web, I'm doing ok with a DSL connection. My understanding is that it will work better with a higher speed cable connection. You should also know that it doesn't allow sharing of the device. If you are watching something on the Palm, someone can't be watching something different. You can also only have a single device accessing remote. I have used the PC connection from time to time and found that trying to open the phone connection at the same time failed (already connected failure). Much better than the Sprint TV stuff, better quality. It can be slow to process a channel change since you are talking about sending the signal to their server then down to your slingbox for processing. One last thing, you shouldn't expect it to be easy to read text on the video, it really is to small and I have struggled to program my Tivo using this interface.

Thanks Bear

few more questions about the set up of the slingbox

I have one cable box hooked up directly to a cable outlet in my house to TV1
I have another cable box hooked up directly to another cable outlet to TV2
I have another cable outlet hooked up to a cable modem then to a wireless LAN.
I probably have another cable outlet in my house as well.

Where do I connect the the slingbox?

Ok, it depends on what you want. If you only want your basic cable stations (normally those below channel 100) then you can simply get the Slingbox tuner and connect it to any of your cable connections. It has a passthru connector so the cable would go thru the SB into the cable box.

If you want more than just basic then it becomes a little tougher. Do you have an extra set of AV connections from one of you cable boxes? If so then you can look at the Slingbox AV.

If you don't have an extra set of AV connections on the back of the cable box then you will need to step up the the Slingbox Pro. This has the ability to pass thru the AV connections. It also supports more than a single device. I have mine connected to my Tivo and am considering hooking it to a DVD Jukebox (400 dvd system).

If you don't have a network connection right at the cable box then you will need a power line ethernet adaptor. I went with the Slingbox version just to keep it simple but I know that netgear sells one as well.

Cost, this stuff adds up quickly.....
Slingbox Tuner $100 - $130
Slingbox AV $130
Slingbox Pro $200 - $225
Slingbox Turbo (1 or 4 port) $80 - $150
Slingbox Player for Palm $30

For the AV and Pro you will also install an IR repeater so you can change channels on your cable box.

As you can see it adds up quickly... Remember that if you hook the AV or Pro to an existing cable box you take control of the device when you start the player on you phone or computer. Someone could watch at home, but if they or you change channels it will effect both parties.

One last thing... this will burn through your Treo battery as fast as possible. You are running the radio and display full time to watch. Think about buying a larger battery!

If you mean that the Sling takes over the cable box and therefore the control of the home TV, that is true only if you aren't using a tuner/RF input into a Sling (either Tuner or Pro). However if you have an analog signal coming from your cable, then I would recommend using that along with a Sling that does have a builtin analog tuner (either Sling Tuner or Pro), since then you don't have to worry about hijacking another person's usage of the TV.
