Why upgrade from 755p to Pre?
Greetings,
The Pre is almost upon us - and despite the fact that I like a cool new toy as much as anyone else, I'm wondering whether it's worth making the change - recognizing that my smartphone is a tool for business and personal effectiveness.
It integrates with an enterprise Exchange server, so that's a start, and will apparently have an emulator for some specific PalmOS software. But there are tools that I use regularly that don't seem to have an equivalent on the Pre. Am I missing something?
These include:
- SplashID, used for encrypted password (etc), account info storage, which is then archived to the desktop via HotSync
- PDANet - used for occasionally tethering my laptop
Also - is there any vehicle for backing up any PalmOS apps used on the Pre?
At this point, I'm not yet convinced it's really 'worth' making the switch...
Any other thoughts?
