Problem after new Treo 700w update

Since running the update I am getting spotty internet connectivity. I will get a good connection one minute, then the next try it says it won't connect. This is all while I am literally in the same palce *within 5 feet. I've called VZW and it looks like I am looking at a replacement.

1. Has anyone else had this problem and know a fix for it?

2. If I go for the replacement, what are the odds that VZW sends me a WX in place of my W?

Thanks

I have the same problem, I have 2 700w and experience the same problem. I don't think it's the phone, it is the update that caused it. I had to reconnect a few times to get on the net. I am just waiting for the i760 and sell my 700w....if you do have any solution, please post it here, thanks

I am experiencing the EXACT same problem. Please post if you encounter a solution of any kind.

Or, if you get your device swapped out and find that the problem goes away...

Well, I could not find a fix so I called VZW and told them that I had intermittent connectivity issues after the update and after a hard reset they still existed. VZW sent me a another phone (another 700w, I was hoping for a WX). The new (I'm sure reman) phone was fine and I haven't had the problem as much or as bad on the new one - even after I updated it again. I wasn't going to update it again, but I really like the softphone speakerphone and mute buttons you get with the update.

Good for you race4beer! Glad that you've found a reasonable resolution. I may have to contact VZW and ask them to send me a different device. I'm very hesitant to do it (not excited about a remanufactured device)--but if it worked so well for you then it would be worth it.

My current device (after the 1.22 update) is at "roll-the dice" when it comes to whether I'll be able to successfully access the internet and retrieve information.

Send a message via Yahoo to redifrogger

Others have reported the same issue and Palm has pulled the 1.22 update. They also will replace the phone with another without the update applied.

Just call VZW customer service and told them about the problem with update 1.22 and was able to get them to send 2 700w, so if you have problem with the new update, I suggest you call them for replacements, I know the replacements will not be new but at least they will work...and no I will not do any update again....good luck.....

Cannot connect pop-up

Anyone else have a connot connect pop-up come on during a call since the 1.22 update? It's an annoying pop-up message that says: Cannot connect with current connection setting, to change your connection settings, tap setting.
Everytime I'm on a call it pops-up for no reason.

i had the same data network connectivity problems after installing the update on a treo700w. I was able to get verizon to send me a new 700w, only problem is that it came with the 1.22 update already installed. So i got on the phone with them again, got another 700w sent to me and AGAIN it had the update on it. I just received this phone yesterday so we shall see how this plays out...

The update when flashed directly onto the rom by them is not causing the same issues as the software update issued by Palm. (according to VZW).

If you just say "I've had lots of problems with my 700w and now this?" "Can I get a WX as a replacement" and there is a good chance the CS Rep will just make it so. and Voila, a brand new Treo 700Wx will appear at your doorstep overnight. (as long as in your indignation over ALL of your 700w issues you ask for overnight shipping).

Total cost to you for the upgrade? $0.

They sent me a wx as an upgrade to the w but it was a referb. I then had to get them to send me another because of the numerous BT problems I was having. That being said, I'm very happy for the free upgrade.

FYI - VZW is required to give you a new phone after receiving 3 defective referbs.
