Verizon XV-6600-->Treo 700WX: Accessories
I more or less gave up on trying to keep my XV-6600 in good working order once Verizon did their annoying firmware update--ring tones wouldn't work right, some of my more CPU intensive apps like SlingPlayer mobile wouldn't work at all, even when I was using a WiFi connection. I just packed it in, and decided it was time to just get the apparent best PDAphone Verizon has right now, which I guess is the Treo 700WX.
Just got it, haven't yet even activated it....But I'm already trying to figure out what extra accessories I need. (Yes, moderator, I know there's a sticky for these sorts of questions...) But I took a look at the Seidio site, and I felt like was in a Too-Much-Information situation. They appeared to have so many accessories, and not yet even having a good feel for the product itself yet, I couldn't really determine which ones are considered to be the must-haves.
I know myself well enough to know I'll probably want that new super-size battery, as well as those covers that expose the reset hole. Then I keep seeing all this stuff about "skins", which is something I had never seen before. Are we really supposed to go and wrap a plastic or rubber sheath all around our phones? That just seems like it'll make it awfully bulky--to say nothing of probably not meshing well with the phone if one is using that mongo size battery. Furthermore, some skinned phones seem to still be able to fit on the standard belt clips, but not all. A little hint from those who've tried a couple of these things would be greatly appreciated.
I know I'll want something that will enable me to charge the phone without having to hook it up via USB and syncing it (I sync to my home machine, not to my laptop, generally).
And what about these "docks" that Seidio is selling? They have both a model called the "INNO dock", and the "INNO dock junior".
As I said, I'm sorry if the community thinks that some of this duplicates what's in the sticky. I did try to RTFM (which in this case was the website of Seidio, and those of several other accessory makers). The product descriptions were so confusing to me, I was hoping that someone here would try to point me in the right direction--give me a hint which accessories are unnecessary, perhaps, because their functions are in some way overlapped by other accessories, for example..that kind of thing.
Thanks again, and if, in the wisdom of the moderator this post gets moved or deleted, I will understand completely, and hope that the moderator undertands that my questions are being put forth here in good faith.
