Smile Which SPECTEC WIFI Card should I use?

Hey everyone,
I am looking into buying a WIFI card for my 700wx. The Spectec one looks nice. Two questions.
1)Spectec has two SD cards available, aside from the MINI one. There is a 802.11B and a 802.11 B/G. Which one should I buy.
2)Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the Spectec cards, and should I consider a different brand?
Thanks alot!

I received a Spectec 802.11b/g card from ebay a couple days ago. The installation completed without a hitch, but I'd have to complain about the reception.

I get cut off from a G access point at 1/4 distance from where my laptop would usually go dead. But i'm not sure if that's just because of the antenna in the SDIO card.

Thanks for the reply. The range issue concerns me.
I am actualy leaning towards the Socket P300 b/g card now. It is more expensive, but maybe it performs better?

SDIO wireless cards would be expected to not have a great range. Look at the antenna size. Imagine the range you would get if you can install an external antenna or a booster. Keep in mind, ranges will vary. Wi-fi B/G is at 2.4Ghz, which is the same frequency as Bluetooth, 2.4Ghz cordless phones, other Wi-fi devices, and even microwave ovens that are heating something.

Quick Follow up

Just as a quick follow up, the spectec card doesn't work anymore. I think I got about 20 wireless connections worth out of it. To my knowledge, I've tried everything to get it work to no avail.

Are there WiFi cards that have space on them? I remember reading that they might be making combos with like 256mbs. Sorry to hijack the thread

I think Sandisk made them along time ago with a HUGE 256mb of storage. I understand, these are larger than normal SDIO Wifi cards that are available now.
