1.) 700W WebSearchPlugin.dll goto your today screen options make sure the Web Search plugin is unchecked, plug your phone into your computer. click on explore on active sync. Afterwards copy the WebSearchPlugin.dll into your \Windows directory and replace the old one. soft reset your phone. after rebooting goto your today screen options and enable the web search plugin again and youre done.
To uninstall make sure the plugin is unchecked in today screen options. locate the WebSearchPlugin.dll and delete it the original is in your rom so it will put back the original. soft reset and check your today screen options again.
personally i like the 700w plugin better because you can get to everything with one hand. with the search today plugin you have to click the Search field on the touch screen to type anything. Where as the WebSearchPlugin you can use the 5 way navigation keys to navigate to it.
This is not working for me. I can see the file in my windows folder so I know it's in there. When I enter a command it just goes to google no matter what I enter.

The file already exists with the phone, you are replacing the dll with the modified one.
you might wanna try to replace it again but make sure you uncheck your websearch check on your today preferences first. also are you putting the forward slash before the commands? try "/help" without the quotes also if it goes to regular google that means you don't have my dll running in there. the default search should goto google local. it shouldnt goto google unless you type the /g command first.
sorry for the late reply I had a lot of work this week.
Ok, I download, to my desktop, this file:http://mavick.com/f/WebSearchPlugin700w.rar, then I make sure that "Web Search" is unchecked in the today settings. I then drag the file from my desktop, using the explore button in activesync, to a blank space in my windows (on my device) folder. Wait a minute, soft reset and then check web search in the today settings. Type in "/help" (without quotes) and other commands and it goes to google every time.

sometimes there are two windows folders one in storage and one in my device make sure you put it in the windows with alot of files and dont put the icon in a folder in windows it should just be \windows\websearchplugin.dll
New command
-- easy letter dial eg: --1800comcast
this will automatically return 18882662278 and you will be able to launch it to call or save to your contact list
Thanks mavick, this keeps getting better and better. I use your add-on to look up things from the today screen a few times every day. Your shortcuts are a big help. The easy letter dial feature is great!
ah... I had read that, but I didn't realize that it meant the full text of what I typed was going somewhere. it makes sense, though, and I still thank you for sharing it.
