The Sprint 700wx should finally give us the best form-factor with decent memory.

Talking

I just got my 6700 and I fell in love. I have no issues with redialing. My bluetooth works flawlessly(so far), and I haven't had to reset it. Granted I haven't installed much on it yet but it appears very stable with very good phone quality. I have the sprint plan with no roaming and I get all of my calls, even in rural South Carolina. I guess I like the old saying (If it isn't broke then don't fix it).

I hope that you love it - it sure seems that a lot of people love the 6700!

I'm going to try the HTC TYTn but I'm sure the form factor may bug me but I am probably trusting the Cingular support guy a bit much that told me that UMTS would be out in Birmingham, AL before December! (I hope he's right - otherwise I may have an eBay sale item.)

I also agree that the 700WX sounds good but I don;t have an account with Sprint - only Cingular (for my occ. International travel and some rural things) and Verizon.

I have had the 700W for 5 months and have had the 6700 for about 5 days. One handed use is about the same to me after changing the soft menus on the today screen to be like the 700W with the exception of anything that uses the keyboard (obviously). The 6700 is more powerful (processor, RAM, wifi), just as stable so far, and less responsive than the 700W. The 700W is easier to use simply because of the always accessible keyboard and the today screen dialer. It basically boils down to a WM5 phone with larger screen, larger keyboard, and more power vs. a WM5 phone that is easier and quicker to use but has less features. I am still undecided which one I will keep.

Thumbs up 700w

Started out with the 6600, loved everything but the size and an occasional lockup. Upgraded 6601, same. Upgraded (?) to the 6700, loved everything but no memory at all, slower than the 6600, mini sd, lock up after lock up, etc, etc. Gave up and got a razor, biggest mistake. you cant go from pda/phone to phone unless you never needed the pda. Got rid of the razor, traded 6700 for new 6700. Same issues as first one, locked up all the time. Traded it for a Q, the good size was nice but no touch screen and no ms apps. Traded to the 700w and havent been happier. I love this thing better than any phone before. I only have had like one or two minor glitches but it could be because i havent read the instructions. But overall the 700w rocks. I just wish more programs were compatible with the screen size.
Thumbs up

I was an early adopter of the Sprint PPC-6700, but have been testing a Sprint Treo 700wx for the past month. Today’s the day my service is supposed to switch back to the 6700 and the Treo goes in the mail back to Sprint.

I just don’t think there is any way I can be happy with the 6700 now that I’ve been spoiled by the simple pleasures of the Treo. It’s not that the Treo is any fancier, faster, etc. It’s that the Treo just works the way it should. I didn’t need to load patch after patch and customize it with hacks to make it work ‘right’. The 6700 just feels clunky, with the ergonomics of an overstuffed burrito. Nothing was ever as easy as it should have been, and I had to hit the reset button far too often. I don’t think I’ve had to reset the Treo once. The battery lasted longer, it was infinitely easier to use one handed, and it feels sturdier. As a PDA, sure, the 6700’s larger screen and wifi are nice. But really, Evdo rocks my socks and if a smaller screen is the tradeoff I have to make, so be it.

The 6700 is so damn close. With a GOOD OS upgrade, or maybe even an open source effort, this phone could be fantastic. But as it stands now? When the 700wx goes on sale soon, my 6700 goes on eBay.

I just got my 700p and I love it. I was going to wait for the 700wx but I'm going to take a wait and see attitude. The only differences between the two I've seen so far is obviously a different OS and more RAM. If the 700wx turns out to be that much better, the 700p goes on the auction block.
