Problem with PocketController and 700w via Bluetooth

I have used PocketControllerPro for a couple of years now… three different PDAs. It has been great!

Now, I bought a Treo 700w and connect it to my computer through Bluetooth.
I am having a problem with connecting PocketControllerPro Ver5.04 build 748, to my Treo 700w.

I get this in Pocket Controller:
Please Wait….
Connecting using LAN/WAN…..
Connecting to 169.254.2.1…..

Then I get a message pop-up….
“Time out connecting to host 169.254.2.1 for connection ActiveSync(USB)”

Is there an issue with trying to connect through Bluetooth? Is there fix for this?

Please help!
Thanks
Paul G

I believe it is another firewall issue, since the connection is IP based. I use Pocket Controller, but haven't had any problems. I do think that you need to switch to "Standard Mode" during setup to connect. The "Auto-Sensing" mode doesn't work since AS 4.x is different.

Only use it via AS with my K-JAM. But there is a later version that you might try. 5.05 build 833.

THANKS ALL!!!!!!

SOTI Tech support finally answered my issue...

They are sending me a link for their beta version that takes care of the BlueTooth issues (supposedly).

I will post my results.

THANKS
Paul G

Well... That was it!!

Actaully I tried the 5.06 version they sent me... it worked... but it wouldn't take my code. They wanted me to pay some money... naw)

So I downloaded the 5.05 build 833. It works with BT also.

Everyone was right.... the newer versions fails the first time... but then asks if you want to open a connection through the firewall... I said yes and badda-bing... were in!

Thanks again all....
