Contacts, Calender, Pocket Informant

With the improvements of the Windows Mobile 2005 - I wonder who is not using the native contacts and calender on the Treo 700?
versus who is using applications like Pocket Informant on the 700 - and why?

I saw in another thread where someone said they were successfully using Informant

Can't go back to it now because the search function isn't working

As for me I have decided to try not to get any app that replaces either WM 5 functionality or any other stock program's functionality. When I was using my old Samsung i700 there was more of a need for some things such as a task manager. With the 700w press and holding the OK button works just fine for my task management. When I had Pocket Informant on my i700 I really didn't see what it did for me other than cramming tons of info in a small space. On the 700w it would seem to me that you would either need a magnifying glass or do a ton of scrolling with Informant. However there is probably a lot of functionality in Informant that I never cared to use like others might. Palm has modified everything so nice for dialing contacts and I would just hate to mess that up somehow with a replacement product that would also eat up more memory.

I have to second Phils comments above, I also use to use Agenda Fusion as well as PI and some of the functions like scrolling through multiple numbers in a contact from the phone app are already inherent in the 700W interface. Only change I would make is to have the OK button actually close the current app while holding it down.

Good point some of the replacement apps just take up the already limited RAM.

I agree w/ppcmd.

I'm using the native apps but using PocketBreeze since the today screen is useless, IMO, without it. I wish I didn't have to.

Excellent suggestion on the OK button.

I have decided not to run any types of apps that are redundant to the installed apps unless I absolutely have to. An excess of "enhancement" applications seem to compromise stability. So far, this has been the most stable PPC, or any other converged device, that I've owned and I'm really hoping to keep it that way.

We all agree...

I have PI loaded (out of habit only) but don't use it. My life feels more cluttered with the busy interface (PI) on this device. I use all built in apps. The only addition is eWallet, Resco Explorer, ListPro and NewsBreak.

Yep. I have to say that as much as I like apps, alot of the stock apps on the 700 are pretty functional. Some of what is limited in functionality (ex. Contacts) is helped by new features (ex. using speed dial to quickly access contact information). Until the memory issue gets better, there really isn't alot that I'm looking to add.

You can implement that OK button suggestion via PocketPlus.

Not to beat a dead horse but I was wondering if anyone had any additional comments on the use of add-ons like Pocket Informant and AgendaFusion now after a couple more months has past?

The built in for the Treo700 and WM5 is great esp for one handed use but is not perfect.
