Treo 700w General Accessories - Updated 1/7/06

This thread will provide place to find general accessories available for the Treo 700w. There are threads available for Cases and Mounting Kits.

Cases Thread:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showt...threadid=63295

Software Thread:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showt...threadid=63291

Bluetooth Devices (including HFK, headsets & GPS):
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showt...threadid=63296

General Accessories:

PPCTechs www.pocketpctechs.com

PPCTechs will have more info on their accessories after CES. They are also looking into possible RAM upgrades (thanks Chris Spera) and will let us know if its possible to up the RAM.

Check them out and let them know what you are looking for.

BoxWave www.boxwave.com

Check out their complete list.
http://www.boxwave.com/products/easy...ories_1042.htm

Has a full list of accessories avaialble today including Screen Protectors which is a must have item.

Palm www.palm.com/us/

Palm has the Treo 700w listed in the Treo store http://web.palm.com/

They now have over 25 accessories available, my suggestion is if you want a Palm OEM accessorie use their site for refference, there are better prices from their resellers.

Batteries
Lion Battery made by Mugen Power
2200mAh BATTERY - PALM TREO 650 PDA/PHONE
http://www.lionbattery.com/descripti...?noproduit=203

Lion Battery has confirmed that the Palm Treo 650 battery is the same as the Treo 700w battery (we knew it) so their 2200mAh battery is a go.

Here is a thread over at TreoCentral where they discussed the battery performance gains (on a Treo 650). It seems the standard battery is 1800mAh.

Seidio also has accessories for the 700w including a battery cover replacement with a reset hole cut-out.

Don't forget about www.proclipusa.com for mouting your Treo 700w. I am looking at a nice integrated mounting option while I have my HF850 BT kit installed.

They are nearly the same size so form a fit stand point it shouldn't be an issue. Power woulud be my only concern.

www.proclipusa.com does not offer a specific model for the 700w on their site. I wonder if the powere 650 mount would work?

WIFI Card and SD CARD

Does anyone know if these two accessories occupy the same expansion slot?

Palm is advertising the WIFI card and a 2 GB SD MEMORY CARD and I was wondering if you could use both at the same time?

The PalmOne leather holster for the Treo 600/650 seems to fit perfectly. The left side barely clears the bottom button (below the volume buttons), but it does clear it and it is accessible. The back portion covers the mirror for self portraits, but not the lense. Overall it seems to be fairly sturdy.

Re: Proclip powered mount

Hello to all:

Just curious.....Proclip's website shows the NON-powered mount for the 650 as being compatible with the 700...

however, it does not show the powered mount for the 650 as being compatible..

Q: do the 700 and 650 have different power connector system in the bottom of the phone or is it the same.

Q: Will other 650 power accessories such as car lighter adapters, travel chargers, also work with the 700??

Thanks in advance.

The Treo 650 accessories are supposed to work on the Treo 700w, at least that was what Palm indicated. Sites may not be willing to say yes it works until they test a unit out (bad power = fried device). I would email them and ask if they plan to test and confirm.

Its a bit strange. They had the reset hole metioned before on this ad. Now its gone. I wonder why? Anyone know if it is still offered and if this is just a website error?

They pulled it off when they realized the 650 battery cover does NOT fit the 700w. Seidio said they will release the 700w battery cover on 1/24.

Does anyone know how long the Screen Protectors last? I messed up the one that came with the phone and orderd the heavy duty ones from Palm (19.99) with shipping. I recieved them and there were only 2 in package. Making them roughly $10 a piece!

I can go 6-8 months on a PPCtechs one. I just ordered the clear ones again from PPCtechs as the antiglare causes a bit too much contrast.

Actually, I went 2 1/2 years on one PPCtech one on my old Samsung i700. I probably should have taken it off and cleaned it or something. The good ones you can clean and re-use so they can probably last as long as you need them.
