I just received my WriteShield C2 Screen Protectors from PocketPCTechs.com. After quite a few PDAs and PDAphones, I swear by these screen protectors. They are the best.

Yeah, this means that I am keeping my Treo 700W.

I have ordered the Treo 650/700W USB charging cable from Arkon for my Powered PDA Mount. I'll test it and provide some feedback.

The Treo 700W fiits perfectly in the Powered PDA Mount. I have to change the pegs around on the bottom in order to accomodate any audio out to my FM Transmitter or to the audio jack on the mount itself, but it works and stays secure with access to all buttons on the Treo.

I received the Treo 650/700 charging cable and the 5V DC charging cable for my BT GPS on Friday. They have been working great in my Arkon Powered PDA mount in my Jeep... pics to follow.

My Arkon Powered PDA Mount in action

Here's a picture I took this morning of the Treo 700W in the Arkon Powered PDA mount with USB power and my iPAQ Bluetooth Navigation System GPS up under the windshield of my Jeep powered by the 5V cable attached to the Powered PDA Mount. The picture isn't the best (taken with my RAZR) but you get the idea.

It's kinda cluttered, but for all of the experimenting I do with different PDAs and PDAphones, the Arkon Powered PDA Mount is perfect because of its flexibility and adaptation capability.

More power, anyone?

Since it's Friday, and we have nothing to do but eat donuts and dream about the weekend, I thought I would throw this out for your perusal and feedback:

1. Would any users be interested in a much more powerful battery for the Treo series?

2. Would you be willing to pay the price of changing the form factor by a few mm to accomodate said battery? Most holders and other accessories would still be compatible, with the exception of our car cradles.

The reason we're looking at this, is because of the additional power drains the 700 series have imposed. I think it would be nice to go a few days without having to recharge, but I'm not the collective you. Feedback - positive or negative - would be most appreciated.

Sounds interesting. I know there are power users who would benefit. I have a customer who picked up the 2400 mAh batter at my suggestion and loves it, he can go all day with it compared to the OEM battery. So there most likely is a market, but weight and form factor will always be the bottom line concern.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I know you're right. Batteries that do bulk up the Treo may definitely be a concern for some reason. We also know that there are power users wanting a solution like this, as that is the reason we're looking into it.

I have an upcoming trip and will be taking my 2400 mAh and 1800 mAh batter with me so a bigger unit could help.

We are in the final development stages of providing an enhanced (read: busted for steroid use) battery. I will post here as soon as it is available for purchase.

Wiil the battery be the same physical size as the 2400 and 1800 mah batteries so a bigger battery cover wont be needed?

Unfortunately, due to cell size limitation, this will not be possible. We will be shipping a new battery door to accomodate the new battery when we start shipping.
