I realize there are other threads about this but none have been updated since 2006.
My
Treo 700W has been sitting idle for some months and I dug it out of the drawer specifically to use it as a bluetooth modem. It has the latest (1.22) firmware, and my account has tethering enabled. The Treo can connect to the Internet using its internal web browser.
I know it's not strictly necessary but I downloaded and installed the latest VZAccess manager, just so I could get Verizon tech support to talk to me.
The short version is that after three days, Verizon tech support has been no help at all. I can connect with the Treo using either USB or Bluetooth, and the diagnostic routine in VZAccess manager recognizes it. I get 4 bars of signal on the Treo, but VZAccess manager doesn't see the signal indicator. If I try to connect I get a message that the remote host is unavailable. Pretty much the same thing happens if I try connecting directly (connect to...).
I'm open to all ideas as to where to go next. June Fabrics is a last resort.
