For the past few days, my Treo 700P has been crashing whenever I go into certain applications. The “error code” I get is “emul68main.c,line456, line1111exception at address…” followed by a number such as 73107750. The number varies and I don’t know what its significance could be. At first I thought each app caused a different number. Then I realized they’re different almost every time. I’ve done numerous Googles on this "error code” (minus the number at the end,) with most of the results taking me into various PDA forums. Most of those posts discuss Treos, that continually crash, but with most of those resets occurring during hot syncs. Many of those are apparently due to a bad file in “Documents to go.” I tried removing that file, just in case, but that didn’t do the trick.
Finally, earlier today, I did a “hard reset” and it did not fix the problem. Slowly, I began adding the apps back to my Treo, one at a time, beginning with the apps that are problematic. But the very first app will still crash and if I delete it and try another one, the same thing will happen. BTW, they’re primarily multi-media apps including Pocket Tunes, Kinoma Player 4 EX and SlingPlayer Mobile, that will ALWAYS result in a crash. When I try using Kinoma Player 4, the entire screen turns white before the video can even begin playing. Actually, Kinoma 4 doesn’t crash but “freezes up” during that white screen. I then have to reset the Treo manually. What’s strange though is if I go into “Pics & Videos,” ALL my videos play flawlessly. A few others, such as Backbuddy.net and even the calendar will cause a crash on a more sporadically basis..
Oh, and before anyone asks, I did install one app, SlingPlayer Mobile, just before the trouble began. But I don't think it's the culprit for two reasons. First, my Treo worked fine, for days, after installation. Second, even after uninstalling the program, I continue to have the problem. I'm really puzzled here and any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated!
If your Treo still crashes after doing a hard reset to clear everything out and not installing anything, then you have a hardware problem in your Treo. You should contact your cellular provider for a replacement.

Michael: What you said, makes sense, but that wasn't it. After doing the hard reset, I re-installed Kinoma 4 but wasn't able to play any videos. I received an error message, saying to re-install Kinoma again, using the Kinoma Installer. But the link to the installer, on Kinoma's website, did not work and I didn't know what to do. So for the time being, I decided to install the other apps. Just after reading your reply, I decided to reinstall SlingPlayer Mobile, thinking it was the likely problem. (It was the only app to crash immediately after starting up, every time.) I went into the Palm archive folder, on my PC, to find the installation file and as I was browsing, the "Kinoma Installer" jumped right out at me! I decided to do that first, since it never was installed properly, and now everything works just fine!! What a relief. Thanks for the reply!
I have a Treo 650 that was in constant reset mode whenever I tried to open Documents to Go. (v. 7 Pro) Go to the Data Viz website and download/install the DTV Tech Tool. It will walk you through the steps that should fix the problem. It will also let you start from scratch and uninstall/reinstall if necessary.
