streaming internet radio

Most often when I'm driving, I like to listen to an internet radio station, but after a few initial successful sessions, the stream is interrupted ("buffering..." or "insufficient bandwidth") every few minutes.

I've tried slower bandwidth connections (32k), usually described as 'dial-up' with the same result. I'd much rather listen on a faster connection, usually 128k, as it's stereo and the dial ups are mono, but lately both stall way, way too often.

Like I said, my first few sessions allowed a broadband connection with only occasional interruptions, but lately even the dial up stalls all the time.

I've also noticed even when the connection lasts a longer time, Kinoma will eventually time out. Why it's designed to do this I don't know...

I'd hate to invest in a better Kinoma player and then get the same results. Is there a cache I should clear somewhere? Anyone else getting this result?

what sevice do you use? Does the internet radio cost extra? I've tinkered a couple of times but it only takes one $300 phone bill (the first time I realized I needed the unlimited data plan and my wife's scorn)to keep me fearful enough not to seriously try the feature out.

I use sprint and the data is unlimited, i wouldn't stream radio with my phone if i had to watch the meter. I simply go to The Mobile Stream Center - Listen to United States Radio Stations on your Pocket PC, Palm, Symbian-based handheld, Smartphone, PDA or other mobile device via Wi-Fi, GPRS or Bluetooth, pick a station and start listening.
