Help - All Text Msg History Wiped Out

Hello all,

First post and I'm hoping for a miracle. When sending a text with a pic attached, my Treo reset and when it rebooted, ALL of my chat history in my text msgs was gone. As you can imagine, there was lots of personal, and business communications going back over a year that I would very much like to have back. I tried hot syncing, soft reboot and Sprint tech support. No help. Everything else seems intact; calendar, email etc...just the text msg history is gone. Strange though, when I upgraded to the 700p from the 650p in August, it imported all my previous text msgs with the first hot sync. Any Guru's out there with recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated.

TIA,

That has happened to me as well more than once. It usually happens when I have TONS of text messages. If you performed a Hotsync prior to this happening all you had to do was do another but make sure you have the PC overwrite the HANDHELD. If not, your messages are now gone.

Thanks for the reply. Which application do I need to have set to desktop overwrites handheld? I dont see anything that indicated text msgs. Would it be the app named versamail, or is the one labled backup? Thanks again, but since I already tried a hotsync, you indicated it may be gone for good huh?
BTW, I have a restore point of the file labled messages_database.PDB from a month ago in my Norton system restore. Can I restore that file, do a hotsync and get them back? TIA!!!!!

On your hotsync manager on your pc make sure backup is selected to DESKTOP overwrites HANDHELD. As for your second question, that is a good one... not sure, may be worth a try for you. Good luck!

It worked! The database was restored from the last backup point (unfortunately 30 days ago) but MUCH better than nothing. Now I know, if I loose the info again, DON'T SYNC until I change to PC overwrites Handheld. Bad,,,,,,,thanks again amigo, you're the best.
