I have got hotsync to work with 6.2 Palm software and all works fine there. I can't understand why it does not show up in system hardware as being set to a port. I use usb cable and in deivce manager i see the Palm handheld but no port assigned. I think this is where the problem is as i need other programs to work like cdma workshop, bitpim Qpst and such. I have searched for usb drivers and have done nothing but read read read and no further ahead. Can someone please shed some light as to what i dong wrong or missing, im sure its just someting simple i am overlooking

Does your Palm device show up in the device manager list when connected to your PC? My desktop Palm hotsync manager application is version 6.0.1, and my Palm.exe desktop application is version 4.2.0, if that is of any help. I'm running XP. Desktop version 6.2 works with Vista.

I can hotsync but cant use any other programs to do anything else, more reading is leading me to a serial cable but in still reading. Diff ppl have dif ideas and some say usb data cable will work but have not found a solution yet
