This clip shows me taking my skinned Treo in and out of the Nutshell designed for a skinned Treo. I've had the Nutshell for about 8 weeks now and its broken in. As you can see, I have no trouble sliding my skinned Treo in and out of the Nutshell
Wow!!! that's awesome,,,, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it. I'm going to talk to Ian about this. That is definitely great marketing.
raleigh1208 I know you posted this on a public forum but can I further get your permission to send this to our buddy Ian at Nutshell? Thanks for going through the trouble, its greatly appreciated. And thanks for calling my video funny as I'm sure there are many other words to describe it
JPR, feel free to forward my video to Nutshell or anyone else you feel appropriate. I'm now a big fan of the Nutshell case and would recommend it to anyone.
I was also blown away at how the Nutshell loosened up after breaking it in for a few weeks. After having difficulty using it with a skinned Treo when I first got the case, I would have bet it couldn't be used easily with a shinned Treo, but now I'm a convert.
In case anyone wonders whether the case is too loose after breaking it in, it is not. I can take the flap off and turn it upside down, and the Treo doesn't budge. I even shook it hard to try to get the Treo to fall out of the case, and it took about 6 shakes before the Treo slid out. So I've now got the best of all worlds--the skin on the Treo keeps it from unintentionally slipping out of the case, but it does slide out easily as long as you hold the bottom of the case with one hand and pull it out with the other hand.

Do you often join forums just to laugh at those you don't agree with? So lets make it clear:
1. I can extract the phone from the alum case as easily as any leather case, without taking it off of my belt.
2. I don't have to extract it EVER! I can answer calls simply by putting the entire case to my ear. One handed! Two handed operation is a deal breaker for me. It doesn't get any easier than this.
3. I can use the screen without removing it from the case. Therefore the phone is ALWAYS protected from my clumsiness.
4. I have jogged with it and it stays put.
5. ALL connections are available while in the case. I say again, there is no need to EVER remove it from the case.
6. The ability to remove it from my belt, answer a call, talk, hang up, and then reinstall it to my belt with one hand makes the case the most "useable" on the market.
7. No one has ever accused me of being sexy (except my wife, and she has to say that...). So I tend to look for practicality and superior design rather than "sexy". But when my aquaintances are having trouble with their technology, I am the one they come to for help.
I fully realize that this particular thread is all about leather soft cases. I have read it with interest, and appreciate the documentation provided by so many, and I feel that this is what forums should be about. On a rare occasion I have politely logged comments about the hard case to give everyone food for thought, and to provide an alternative point of view.
I believe it is the policy of this forum that all points of view are welcome.

Hi Ozzy,
Ya its funny this thread started out to be a contrast and compare between 2 hard plastic holsters.
I'm with you on the hard cases. If I couldn't have my Nutshell I would go back to my Magnesium case. The only thing that really, really bugged my was that I was afraid it would accidentally become detached from the clip.
after reading these reveiws i decided to purchase a nutshell case with belt loop. and cant wait to get it so could you tell me how long it took to receive your case after it had been shipped?
I've ordered three Nutshell cases now. Each time I got an email saying my case had shipped the next day, and I received it within a week. I love the Nutshell case!
Hi guys,
We appreciate the unbiased comments made about our products and it means a lot that we have dedicated fans out there.
It seems the average travel time for a regular order to get delivered from way down here in NZ is about 7-10 days, although the recent Xmas rush screwed those numbers totally.
According to DHL (we ship DHL and have them 'burst' our deliveries into the regular mail system in the customer's country), whenever there is a high travel season the mails are the first items to get displaced in the cargo hold to make room for travelers' bags.
But now flights are back to 'normal' we can be confident delivery times are back on track.
Thanks for choosing Nutshell.

Nutshell - we make the Holster.
I am still on the fence trying to decide which case to buy. I have just transitioned from the KYO 7135 and loved the convenient one-handed operation coupled with the swivel capability.
It looks like the Nutshell is very well made, but I am somewhat put off by the two handed operation, the Velcro latch (noisy?), and being committed to either vertical or horizontal attachment.
The Seidio, on the other hand, looks very similar to my beloved KYO, but I see in prior posts that the swivel point is not centered, it might have structural problems, plus a tendency to scratch the Treo (not that a few scratches will make or break my decision). I am also troubled that unlike the Nutshell, no one seems to be raving about the Seidio.
I know that in the final analysis, it is just a matter of personal preference, but I do not want to purchase the obligatory five cases before I make up my mind. I would prefer to do the research, then buy the best for my needs and live with my decision.
Any final thoughts that could tip me one way or another?
As you can see from my posts, I'm a Nutshell fan. For me the process of taking my Treo out of the case is very quick and easy, since I'm used to it. The velco doesn't give me a problem. If I'm going to be using it alot, I'll just tuck the velco tab under the back, leaving an open case without the flap.
If you get the belt loop case, you can wear your treo horizontally, vertically, or, as I do, diagonally.
I've used the Seidio holster, and it does wear the top of your Treo. While I got used to taking it in and out of the holster, my biggest fear was that I would hit the release unintentionally and drop my treo. Moreover, I just feel it is better protected in the Nutshell.
So it's really a personal preference on what you like or don't like.
It absolutely is much better protected in the Nutshell and as was said the only time I ever use the Velcro flap it when I jog,,,, It is tucked out of the way 95% of the time. I dont have a treo any more but still love my Nutshell.
The Seidio clip type is a great holster! It is extremely easy to use. One handed, no problem. It is guaranteed to take the paint off the treo but it took mine 6 months to do so. The Seidio cradle type will take the paint off in a few weeks.
The Nutshell is also a one handed case but sometimes you do have to pop it open with the fingers before putting the phone in the case. Then again a major annoying hangup with the Seidio is your shirt always getting caught in the holster as you go to put the phone in the holster.
You cant beat the security of the nutshell but the Seidio is smaller and easier to use.
All this being said....... If I couldnt have my Nutshell....... Id carry the phone in my pocket!
I am not particularly inclined to get the skin since I want my Treo to be as svelte as possible. However, it is rather slippery, so I am definitely considering the egrips.
A prime consideration is ease of access. If I get the Nutshell and wear it diagonally as raleigh does, is the flap even necessary? I am not intending to perform any acrobatics, but I will have to run to catch the bus on occasion and would prefer that my Treo doesn't jump out of the case trying to beat me to it.
I use the clear egrips with my Treo, in my Nutshell case. Without egrips, I almost dropped my treo several times. The egrips really help out in that regard. I've got the full egrips on now; even if you use just the side egrips, they really help out.
The Nutshell I bought was the one designed to accept a skinned Treo, so it is a hair bigger than the regular Nutshell. I go back and forth with whether or not I use my skin case. Right now my Treo is skin-less, but egripped.
With my skin on, my Treo won't accidently fall out of my Nutshell, since the skin grips the case. My Treo with only egrips and no skin grips to some extent in my Nutshell, since my Nutshell has the extra room for a skinned Treo. But the egrips does give it some grip in my Nutshell, so I doubt it would fall out, even when I wear my Nutshell diagonally. If you do not plan to use a skin, then if you put an egripped Treo in the regular sized Nutshell case (not the one for the skinned Treo), I doubt it would slip out, even with it in the diagonal position and running for the bus.
You can certainly buy the Nutshell without the flap, and especially if you use egrips, I doubt you'd have much risk of it sliding out. My Nutshell has the flap, which I keep closed all the time except when I take out my Treo. As JPR noted you can tuck your flap inside or outside the case when not needed and use the Nutshell as a pouch case (when I do that I tuck the flap outside the back of the case, between the case and my belt). But if you might want to use the flap, I'd rather get the flap and tuck it in when not needed, as opposed to buying the case without the flap, and needing it later.
I've used the Seidio holster and the Nutshell case; I liked both, but for me the bottom line was protection for my expensive toy, so I've settled on the Nutshell, and really love it.
I have the Seido and it is very similar to the 7135 holster, which I loved. I've used it for half a year or more and it has been very reliable. It probably will eventually do a little paint scratch damage, but so far it hasn't. Well designed, and if you like easy and full access to your Treo, it can't be beat.
OK then, I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
Based on all the great reviews and responses, I have decided to purchase the best of the bunch. I'm sure it will live up to my expectations and I can hardly wait until it arrives.

I KNOW! It's not your fault. (it never is)
I am really confused by all of the positive reports on the Seidio holster. My 3rd one broke yesterday. The prior two had the belt clip break. It is a far inferior mechanism to the simpler, bulletproof Kyocera 7135 holster. The third one, which I had used for 8-9 months, had the top clip that holds the phone in the holster just snap in two.
I will definitely try a different holster. Anyone try the Helix holster? The belt clip looks much sturdier than the Seidio. Why can't someone make a simple, sturdyholster for the Treo just like the one for the Kyo 7135?
