I use a cradle in the car and at night. So no Skin. The EZ grips are my last chace at curbing the constant dropping I have incurred. The velcro on the horizontally mounted nutshell case is iffy at best, So I have taken to the vertical method. The skin would leave me struggle to remove it.
Man I hope the EZ grips work with the cradles.
I was successful in using the Palm cradle with my Treo with full eGrips--full side and back pieces. It takes a little time the first few times to line the Treo connection up with the one on the cradle, but after a while you get the hang of it and it works. So you can use an eGripped Treo in the Palm cradle but not a skinned Treo.

Has anyone tried slipping a vaja case into one of those sturdy nutshell ones?
I like the idea of securityof the nutshell - With little ones around ... the guard must always be kept up.
I do not like the idea of the grrippy skins getting easily dirtied and fuzzy from link. I have enough to clean '
Those VAja cases caught my eve and thought they would protect nicely while in use and then i can use a nutshell to hold it.
Any thoughts and suggestions are most welcome - this is my first post here and you all seemed so warm and inviting.

Well you could pick a pre-made case or I believe you can tell Nutshell the measurements and have one made, I think.
They didnt have a specific case to fit my new phone so I looked up the size on the chart and ordered the right fit. My wife is using my old nutshell (looks brand new) on her new treo
Raleigh1208, Thank you so much for your insights. I will add your words to the review.
Of course do-able is an awfully ambiguous term
Could you please shoot a short quick-time, avi or MOV and zip it up for us. We want to see the placing and removing of the skinned treo in the Nutshell so we may gauge the effort.

JPR, while I would love to do that, you have to tell this technology-challenged 49 year old how to do that. I can borrow another Treo and use its video function--is that avi or MOV? I've also got a digital camera that's several years old, but I believe I can shoot a short video with it--will that work? If so, once I shoot the video how do upload it here?
Well the treo shoots in 3g2. My camera shoots in MOV. I shoot short clips with the camera and pop the cameras SD in the towers card reader and convert it to AVI with RAD tools. RAD TOOLS are a great free converter. Rad Tools
With my men's intuition I took the liberty of shooting a short pre-quel parody. For a giggle click the link then click download on the bottom of the 4shared page. Skinned treo in a nutshell,,,,, jk ;- )
I think a treo video zipped would be enough to set readers minds at ease and calm their apprehensions about ordering a Nutshell for skinned treos
Alright, I am new to this forum and I am GLAD I found it!! I have had my 650 for about 5 months now and have gone through 3 different cases. 1) The raggedy Sprint case that has the flip cover. 2) The "fake" Vaja Case 3.) A horrible case from Monaco (DONT GET IT!)
I am looking at getting the Krussel Skin tight case that you can slide the Treo into. Any thoughts on that? It seems like there is no one solution when it comes to cases with the Treo. I have a blackberry 7210 and the holster is PERFECT! Its easy to get out of, provides plenty of protection and is form function is a perfect 10.
Heres the version for skinned treos. It will save your paint. But not exactly a safe way to carry the phone in my opinion. But I'm use to the extreme safety that a Nutshell case provides LINK
As far as the Krussel goes I can only assume your talking about the Krusell Clasic http://store.treocentral.com/content.../4-20--145.htm Many like them. Its OK if you dont mind the screen and button being covered. Krusell uses very weak, fragile plastic clips on the backs of their multidapt cases.
P.S. ,,,,, LakaH8ter ,,,, does that mean you hate the Lakers?
Yes, I was looking at the Krussel that covers the entire phone. I like that one because of the fact it gives it pretty good protection. I can't believe the folks at Palm would put cheap plastic on a $500 dollar phone. BUT ANYWAY, I like the idea of a holster, however I get really nervous about holding that thing in my hands.
How about the Treo 650 LeatherSkin-Lateral Pouch Combo by Sena.
As for the Lakers, yes I absolutely loathe them. I hate the colors purple and gold and anything else that has to do with the Lakers!
I really believe, that there is not ONE case for all occasions. However, it looks like I am going to have to break down and spend 49.99 on the NutShell case, and grab some egrips with it. I was looking at getting the Sena case but that seems like overkill. This is going to be another hit in my "Gadget" budget.
And the funny thing about it is, a year or two from now we will be talking about how we need to get something for our NEW phone. I need to get a second job just to pay for my gadgets and there accessories.
(Its good to know that I am not alone out there, cuz my wife things I'm retarded)
Still like my aluminum hard case! I dropped it hard on the pavement a couple of weeks ago. Bent up the case a little, but the phone was undamaged, not even a scratch! That's what I bought it for.
Hahaha, I mean I could put my phone in a vault to and it wouldn't get damaged if I dropped it either. But for most of us we want something that is a little more "usable" and a little sexier.

Well I finally figured out today how to take an avi movie on my digital camera and put it in a zip file, but then found it was too big to attach here. So I've used the 4share.com site that JPR used for his funny clip. Hopefully you can download the clip and view it. At the bottom of this link you'll see a download button to download my clip.
This clip shows me taking my skinned Treo in and out of the Nutshell designed for a skinned Treo. I've had the Nutshell for about 8 weeks now and its broken in. As you can see, I have no trouble sliding my skinned Treo in and out of the Nutshell--as long as you use two hands. All you need is light pressure to hold the bottom of the case with one hand while you slide the Nutshell in and out with the other hand. It's become very easy for me to do. It's difficult to do one handed, since you're pulling the case and your pants at the same time, but if you use two hands and hold the case, it is very easy to do.
I hope this clip is helpful. Any questions, please advise and I'll try to answer.
Just an update to my post several months ago about loving my P6 case. Well since it has broken in, I find that I am accidently hitting the power and then the center button to unlock keygaurd. I will pull the phone from the case and find it running Blazer (yeah for unlimited data!) or another app.
I would even answer a call while trying to remove it from the case becuase I'd put enough pressure over the screen to answer (or hangup). I had to disable the screen on incoming calls.
Looks like I am in the market for another case....
Anyone know of a case similar to the P6 but with a firmer flap or front panel?

I had the same problem and tried every keyguard out there and none work well. I eventually had to continuously use the built-in security application. It solved the problem but man,,, what a pain to unlock the security application every time you want to use the phone.
