I have a client that has a Treo 600. He has beat it up pretty well and now the phone will no longer sync up with any computer via any method(IR or cable).The computer and the phone will start to communicate and then time out after about 3 minutes. I have tried several computers and get the same behavior on either computer with the cable and the IR. He has had this problem for a while now and has not been able to backup his data on the phone. Here is my question, can I download a backup program to the sd card and install that program from the sd card to the phone? Would I need a program installed on the phone that would allow me to read from the sd card or is that function native to the treo600?

I have Backup Buddy VFS on my SD card, and it runs fine from there.
Put it in \Palm\Launcher\

Can it be installed from the SD card? Do i need any additional software on the Treo to read the SD card to load software?

I run it from the card. create directories on the card \palm\launcher and put backupbuddyvfs.prc in there.
