I am here. My i500 bubble has burst. I have not canceled my pre-order, but I am going to educate myself on the T600 before I commit. I'll be here a lot more also, and checking out Treo Central as well.
Count me in. I'm about to overcome my fear of not having analog roaming in favor of getting a modern phone that may actually ship before the i500. Here's wishing us all luck.
And Carl, good luck on Treocentral. I lurk over there as well, but they are sooooooo postive and upbeat I can hardly stand it.

Hi Dale, I just registered over there. Need to educate myself on the Treo, but I think am and done with the i500. I am not too concerned about the no analog roaming. Maybe 3 years ago it was more of an issue, but not much anymore. I always keep my phone to not analog roam anyway, and I do not remember making an analog call in at least 2 years.
My son's going to Emory, and I've noticed in your neck of the woods, Sprint and/or digital roaming covers nearly everything. Out here in the badlands of West Texas, if you leave the interstate corridors you generally lose all service but for local analog carriers, so having that backup is handy in case of an emergency. That said, however, it's only an outgoing need - clients can wait until I hit the next town for voicemail replies, so I'm starting to lean more your way.

Has anyone made one of those cool paper T600 mock-ups that some guy on Tcentral made? I think I'll get my 5 year old to help me make one tonight ( quality family time and all, ya know).
I want to put it right next to my i330 and see how they compare.
Plus, did you ever think, what if this phone really came out EARLIER than expected?
That'd be supa-cool.

Dale, Emory is a great school. I used to live just around the corner from Emory and all it's local watering holes, but that was 20 years ago when I first moved to Atlanta. I now live out in the NW suburbs. We have good Sprint coverage here. the only place I go to on a regular basis that does not have Sprint (and probably will never have Sprint) is in the NW part of Alabama where my mother in law lives. I even had trouble analog roaming there as well. I usually only go on weekends, so lack of coverage is not a huge issue.

Battery and lack of analog roam have me stumped. The later is important out here in wid eopen spaces of West Texas. Once you leave the interstate system, you're pretty much dead in the water without analog to fall back on. As for battery - I just don't like knowing if I do use it up, the only recourse is an AC tether or a strap on battery recharger. Stating talk/standby time is a lot like EPA mileage ratings - useage ALWAYS varies. If you do a lot with the PDA in the morning, and then can't make or receive an important call in the afternoon, where does that leave you.
All of that said, it still is a Corvette compared to a Geo (i500) based on the specs.

I cancelled my i500 pre-order today and am now also offically waiting for the Treo600. I did buy a Treo300 to play with and to have a vision phone. Up until now I have had a i300 with no vision. I have not received my Treo300 as of yet.
I have also been concerned about battery life and no analog. But to be honest, I can not remember the last time I used analog, so while I think it might be an issue, it really has not been. Sprints coverage has only improved over the past 3 years I have been a customer. Battery life is a huge issue. I figured if I can cut it with the Treo300 for a while, then my long term fears about the Treo600 will be put to rest. I will just have to remember to charge every night and have a car charger and a travel charger.
Let us know how you like the T300 in the interim. Since there was an indication there would be a trade-in policy of some sort (from Handspring) I'm looking for a low cost T300 (used or Amazon) to tide me over until T600. However, I just can't seem to give up the lust for the i500 form factor yet.

Where I work, we've been looking at the CDMA (Sprint) Treo-600 as a replacement for our I330 phones. I am inferring that the word is out that the T-600 will not be analog-roam capable ? Bummer ! We operate in south-central Ky and many of our folks live in "analog-only" country. I can make do w/o 3G services while I'm out in the COuntry, but I NEED a phone that works there !

D2.... I am hoping I have not made a mistake. Someone who has posted on this forum said he had a phone (new Treo300 he received as a replacement). We made a deal and I sent $$$ to his paypal account. He sent me a tracking number on Monday, but it did not work, yesterday he said to try it after noon PDT. Still nothing. I have emailed him about the tracking number and questions about if there are any chargers, etc included, but have heard nothing since mid-day yesterday. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, and hoping he is busy.
My plan is to activate the phone as an additonal phone on my account and play with the Treo before I decide to put the i300 out to pasture.
There are lots of Treo300s on eBay, but they are selling for more than Sprint or Handspring is currently selling them for. Go figure!?
Here's hoping you didn't get taken. That would be a real bummer to top off this endless i500 wait. Folks are jumping ship at a quickly accelerating rate.
Let us know if we can help.

I am hopefully waiting.
Carl - sure hope he comes through for you. I have to admit, I must be lucky because I've not been taken on eBay (knock on wood). As for the pricing, it seems in the tech area there are way too many folks bidding stuff up beyond current retail (check out listings on a Treo 90, the PDA only version - bought one at Staples for $149 when lowest bid price was $185). That said, I hope they stay ignorant until we cal sell off our T300's when the T600 is released.

Dale, for now I am giving the person the benefit of the doubt....

I also have had nothing but poitive experiences with ebay, mostly as a buyer. I have purchased lots of equipment there, some very big ticket stuff. Just picked up a 15kva UPS system in Orlando that originally sold for over $15000, for just over $1000.
HAHA! Nice to see some familiar names here. I've been lurking here off an on for a while, mostly b/c of the samsung fourms. It will be nice now to post in the treo forum as well!
I got my "hold me over" Treo 300 yesterday. I am pleasantly surprised. I have not activated it as of yet. In a comedy of errors, trying to by a Treo300 on eBay, I ended up buying 2! The one that will come tomorrow is brand new (sealed box). The one that came yesterday was supposedly a "replacement" phone, and did not come with accessories. Anyway, got a charger for it and just messed with it for a while and I do like it. I gave it to my network engineer this AM, so it looks like we will both have Treo300s for a while.... of course until the 600 shows up.
