Firmware Upgrade due EOM ?

Is a new firmware upgrade for the 650 on the way? Palm Insider reports there is, and offers the tantalizing tidbit of not only improvements but new capabilities as well.

What would you like to see improved about the inner workings of the 650? Bear in mind that new code can't alter the hardware, so focusing on reliability and exploiting what the existing hardware can do is the key here.

i'll tell you what, and you can quote me on this one....I don't like Palm, but this firmware release is a model of what all other manufacturers should follow. Palm is being a good steward and I highly respect them for that. If Microsoft and HTC and the various brands like HP would do this, their sales would soar.

If it weren't for the fact that Palm OS is pretty much dead, moves like this would make me switch over.

hats off to Palm.

How would they release this upgrade? Would we have to go to our providers for a flash or will it be a download and we install it ourselves?
