Google Strikes Again!

Google's new free service for PDA phones is another winner. Just enter http://mobile.google.com/local and you'll see a mobile-friendly home page which asks for your location, and remembers if for subsequent requests (until you change it).

Maps, directions, store locations, even click-through dialing;this thing is slick, and a nice step up from their SMS-based text-only locator. Text-only from Google? Well, you send an SMS to 46645 {which is GOOGL on a dialpad} and then the name of the store, to get the address and phone numbers back in very short order.

Both are good demos of what a PDA phone can do for you, and will help win the hearts and minds of folks who want 'just a phone.'

Closed at $185/share today. Knock yourself out.
I'll wait till it's $1.85 again!

Niiiiiice. I really love the click-through dialing. Although I couldn't get there though this link: http://mobile.google.com/local I got a 404 Not Found error. I got there through this link: http://www.google.com/xhtml and then clicking on local.

Now it just needs to add white pages and I'll be very happy.

What goes up comes down but it may be a wait.

Take last April's price of $185/share, and add about another C note, for today's price.

Not 2 shabby for 2 months.

That illustrates the insanity that is the stock market. Can you say "bubble"?

Who can really say that $300/sh is a good price for Google? "They" should have their head examined.

Some people thought the same thing after Microsoft's IPO first came out. A stock is worth today whatever people are willing to pay for it today. Will Google's share price top $400 before it drops to $1.85? Only time will tell.
