I've got it marked on my calendar and will do my part to help the Kyocera win this tournament! I wonder what impact it will have that the Treo 300 has been out since last friggin summer, and the 7135 has barely been released by a major carrier?

might be a close game...
Yep... it'll probably go down to the buzzer. Vegas currently has the 7135 listed as a 15% favorite. As Cosmo Kramer would say... that's some sweet action! :p

I don't think it's completely accurate to state that the 7135 has been "released by a major carrier". If you are referring to Verizon (I suspect you are), I don't really think it has been released yet. More accurately, an April release has been officially announced by Verizon. But in my book of definitions, until you can walk into a Verizon retailer and purchase the phone, I don't consider it released yet.

I was actually thinking the same thing as I was typing my first post... until you can get it at a store, it's not released... which puts the 7135 at even more of a disadvantage in a "contest" against a smartphone available everywhere for the last 8+ months.

This is confusing, it isn't released, how can Getconnected sell it as a Verizon phone to individual customers?
Tracey
You're right, its confusing. GetConnected apparently has access to Verizon-branded phones before they are available from Verizon retailers. In addition, Verizon has beeen willing to activate non-branded 7135's purchased through GetConnected. None-the-less, until you can buy the phone from a Verizon retailer, or via the Verizon web site, (and as of this writing, I don't believe that you can do either), I don't consider the phone to be released yet.

I think this is one of those cases where an irresistable force meets an immovable object. The carriers may be somewhat immovable... but the 7135 is so irresistable that it just can't be held back!
