Robert the Treo is beginning to look better and BETTER. :crazya :eyecrazy :jump3
If Santa doesn't bring the 7135's down from his North Pole workshop with the presents to give to SPRINT and Vrzon I may have to go that route to save my sanity. Err, at least what there is left of it.
February 1st will be it for me.:b_multi
I make my final decision about jumping to it then. Xmas bills will be gone and I will be able to afford a toy for me by then.

Well I'm pumped! Alltell is my carrier - I was willing to change to Verizon or Sprint, but was aprehensive since I have unlimited minutes for $59 per month. It looks like now I'll have the best of both worlds!!! I'll be getting this phone the very first day it's available!
My personal experience with Alltel has been very good - in terms of coverage/quality. Customer service, on the other hand, sucks pretty bad. Alltel must employ the most ignorant people on the earth. I called into the company three times and went to one of their local stores, and not ONE person could tell me anything about the 7135, data service plans, etc. I've never been dropped on a call and I only pay $59/month for unlimited minutes - plus we get the 7135 before almost everyone else - so the poor customer service is well worth the other aggrevations!:redspotda

must have been a new guy or the regional mgr. was monitoring the calls...
I switched 18 months ago from Alltel to Verizon and will never go back. I had two main problems:
1. My billing seemed to have a problem every month. The cure seemed to always involve strong words to the lowly customer service rep followed by being placed on hold while the consulted with a manager.
2. I had too many occasions when I couldn't get a call to go through during peak times (like 5 pm.) That may be better now (I'm in central NC) but I'm not willing to find out.
Overall, my experience with Verizon, from billing to customer support to coverage area to call completion, has been outstanding. (Wow, I'm a commercial!)
I'll wait another month or two for Verizon.
(BTW - I've yet to see an official announcement that Alltel is carrying the 7135.)

Can I get an Amen!
BTW :topic-off who controls all of those wonderful smilies? It only seems appropriate that we have a 'waiting' smilie... litle guy looking at his watch and tapping his feet or something.
I spoke to a Verizon Rep yesterday. He wouldn't commit to anything, and actually recommended against buying the phone through AllTel and then converting it to Verizon's service. He gave a typical sort of "well, if Verizon isn't selling it, there's gotta be some reason, right?" response.
