The forum indicating there are unread posts while all of the posts have closed envelopes is a vbulletin thing I believe. I checked the boards over there and no one knew.
I just mark the forums as read when I am done.

I have also gotten notifications of new posts where, when I go to look, there is no post from that person.... and several times there has been instances where I go to a thread that I haven't checked in a while and posts that I have not yet read are contracted. I don't know why that's happening.... but so far I give vBulletin two thumbs up

OK, I gotta know and cant find the answer anywhere.... What is the significance of the "dot_folder" verses the regular folder? I see dots on some folders but not others?? Enquiring minds need to know.

The dots on the folders signify the threads that you've posted to.

I think I have the problem taken care of... It was because of the mail server I was using was being very buggy. I have switched to a mail server running on this box...
The line that the error message corresponds to, is the line of code that sends out the emails... So if someone tried and tried to post, the mail got sent out again and again...
Things seem to be much better now.... Please let me know...

I don't know if the problems should have been fixed before you posted this, but I received 2 notifications about your 1 post, and 2 notifications about a post from jazz that is not in the thread

yeah robert, same here still.
lots of emails telling me "new replies" and then there is no replies for quite awhile on some threads.
i'm not sure if the emails are "bogus" or if the posts are "hiding" like they were before.
hmmm...

What I find most strange is that the error messages we're getting now are pretty much the same as the ones we got on phpBB. I could be wrong, but that tells me that it's a problem on the host's side. What else could it be?
