The forum indicating there are unread posts while all of the posts have closed envelopes is a vbulletin thing I believe. I checked the boards over there and no one knew.

I just mark the forums as read when I am done.

I have also gotten notifications of new posts where, when I go to look, there is no post from that person.... and several times there has been instances where I go to a thread that I haven't checked in a while and posts that I have not yet read are contracted. I don't know why that's happening.... but so far I give vBulletin two thumbs up

OK, I gotta know and cant find the answer anywhere.... What is the significance of the "dot_folder" verses the regular folder? I see dots on some folders but not others?? Enquiring minds need to know.

The dots on the folders signify the threads that you've posted to.

I think I have the problem taken care of... It was because of the mail server I was using was being very buggy. I have switched to a mail server running on this box...

The line that the error message corresponds to, is the line of code that sends out the emails... So if someone tried and tried to post, the mail got sent out again and again...

Things seem to be much better now.... Please let me know...

I don't know if the problems should have been fixed before you posted this, but I received 2 notifications about your 1 post, and 2 notifications about a post from jazz that is not in the thread

yeah robert, same here still.
lots of emails telling me "new replies" and then there is no replies for quite awhile on some threads.

i'm not sure if the emails are "bogus" or if the posts are "hiding" like they were before.

hmmm...

What I find most strange is that the error messages we're getting now are pretty much the same as the ones we got on phpBB. I could be wrong, but that tells me that it's a problem on the host's side. What else could it be?

i concur.

i like some of the new features, i greatly dislike some of the new "features", as well.
for example, the contracting stuff is a neat thought, but it ends up causing extra clicks to get the info accurately.

features aside, i just want it to work well so that we don't get "the run-around" from the board.

i'm sure that jj & jazz are hot on the trail of the difficulties.

i hope this all gets squared-away before the 7135.

cool, you're right.

i went back and looked at the email and that was it.
isn't there a way to leave a link when moving or deleting a thread so that doesn't happen? hold on...looking...yup, there is. 2 options.
or maybe a "merge".

anything is better than following a dead link with no explanation of why it is dead. imho

you are correct.

someone sent that thread to my atention and i took care of it. usually it means merging a thread, but since i moved this one instead it left no "return address" so to speak.. :p

next time ill be more careful...

when clicking on a username in the users online list on the main page, the following error results.
Quote:
CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:
the next is regarding the thread counts.
the main page will say <27> new posts, and i click and there are <2>

Good catch on that member thing... I got it taken care of....

and on the new posts. can you be more specific on where you are seeing the new posts reported and then what you click on to see only 2? When you click on view new posts, it will take you to a thread list that shows all the threads that have new posts in them, possibly containing multiple new posts in one thread... There could be 27 new posts but they all occured in 2 threads.. If i am totally wrong on this post some screenshots....

Thanks...
