HTC is certainly on a roll over the last month. Only a short couple of years ago, we might see one or two compelling new
PDAPhones each year coming out. This year has been the year of choice for
PDAPhone enthusiasts. Just in the last month, HTC alone has seen the AT&T Tilt, the Sprint Touch, and now the T-Mobile Shadow hit the US market. Same maker... but three totally different devices for the different carriers. Choice is good, and it keeps everyone on their toes.
The new T-Mobile Shadow was announced today and is based on HTC's Juno platform. It will be available at the end of the month, iconically on Halloween, for $149.99 with a 2 year agreement. This should open the door for it to compete with the mainstream mobile phones.
The Shadow is sporting a new unquie user-interface sitting atop
Windows Mobile 6. It includes a 2 megapixel camera, Stereo Bluetooth, and WiFi, and has a vertical sliding keyboard which provides both a numeric dialpad, and an overlayed QWERTY capability. The Shadow features a 65K 2.6-inch display with 320 x 240 pixels of resolution. The radio supports T-Mobile's Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz) network.
