Microsoft has filed a countersuit against Sendo, the British mobile phone developer that accused it of having used their partnership to develop a Smartphone to "plunder" Sendo's intellectual property.
Sendo filed suit against Microsoft last December. The phone maker claims that Microsoft made false promises in order to extract Sendo's expertise.
In its response and countersuit to Sendo's action, Microsoft denies that it stole Sendo's trade secrets in order to enter the mobile phone market. The software giant is filing a claim of breach of contract against the handset maker.
Microsoft has also filed motions to dismiss and transfer the case, according to the docket report at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Sendo filed its suit against Microsoft in Texas.
Sendo confirmed Microsoft's response to its suit and the countersuit, but declined to comment on either.
The request to transfer the case "could be a delay tactic," a Sendo spokesperson said.
