I just visited the local Verizon Wireless store and their files, including the Instructions (Word doc) and binary image file, are identical. Same name and file size.
I'm sure the files are legit. Now we just need the Samsung PST tool. The local Verizon store used the Samsung PST Lite software.
Please post any information regarding the PST tool.

I got the MCCI drivers, working on the upgrade utility now
Just a note.. the i700 upgrade utility will not be PST, rather something samsung and microsoft came up with to deploy 2003. Even so, the i700 upgrade will not have the i600 module and vice versa. If you try, just be careful so that you don't end up with a paperweight.

Wouldn't matter, no option to select an image file, the upgrade tool connects and downloads the image file at the time of upgrade rather than letting you store the image file on your hd....
as another note... goto http://www.vzw.com
select products / phones and click on i600.. there's now a link to "Download smartphone 2003"
OK fine, so that PST tool is sacred. But that i600 DLL to be used by the PST tool should not have to be right? So how about someone posts that file and gets us one step closer?

For anyone in the Philadelphia area, the 1700 Market Street store reports that they have it in but need to test it and will be ready to install Monday. (I was referred there from the, closer to my office, 1115-41 Market Street store who were their usual helpful selves.)
The Ardmore store also reports that they have it but won't install it until Monday. While I am somewhat tech savvy, I am going to let them do it. I have enough aggravation with my golf game!!
If you think about it, we are really some patient individuals. 1.5 years waiting just for the phone to come out, and another year for the upgrade to come out. 2.5 years of waiting....jeezus, maybe I should try that with my gf lol. It better be worth it on both ends!

Why is the PST Tool so protected??? I don't get it!!! Why are people being so protective of it. I thought the purpose of this forum was to SHARE technology, tips and tools???

It's proprietary, copyrighted, and illegal to distribute, nuff said.
You can buy UniPST for 200$ from select CDMA kit dealers, and I'm sure they wouldn't be happy if free copies were floating around on the internet. If I had it I sure wouldn't distribute.
short of bringing a usb memory key to an outlet store and jacking the directory off their service comp, I can't seem to find samsung's pst light or unipst 2.5 posted and/or obtainable immediately anywhere in the public domain.

Came to that same conclusion. And all these russian sites scare me, anyway. Oh well. The signs are all pointing towards an imminent release. I'll hold out.
My store upgraded my phone and had a floor model with 2003. It is the same version as the one i am hosting. I am going to play with it for a bit. No longer boots with smartphone 2002 instead it has a nice windows mobile screen.
The guy said he was not supposed to do upgrades until monday, but he wanted to see it, and some times you get techs who don't care. Especially when there is no reason to have to wait until monday. I also did not get charged $15
I just tried four Verizon stores on the San Francisco peninsula. Two said they were having computer problems and suggested I call back on Monday. One said the upgrade was only available through Verizon Wireless IT. The fourth store said they would do it today for $15. I explained that I had data service, but they said it was $15 regardless. They said it would take 30 minutes. I'm going to wait until Monday and see if the upgrade shows up on the web.
