Anyone successfully brought this to the US?
So, we know it can't go onto Verizon or Spint. What about US Cellular or other similar small regional CDMA carriers? What about an MVNO like Earthlink?

Technically, it can work on Sprint, US Cellular, and Verizon. Sprint won't let phones on their network that aren't in a central database at Sprint.

It should work on any cdma carriers besides for sprint/vzw, i know alltel will activate non branded phones...

It anyway costs at least $1000 for the i550 without a plan under the border, for that price i'll sell you one that will work for sprint...

I just checked with Alltel Customer Service and they said they will not activate any non-Alltel phones. I am not sure how accurate the rep is, but that is what she said.

I've just sold my beta i550 to sun2002 for $650, so perhaps there's now a new "fair market comp" for setting pricing on these units.
In any case, those folks that kept PM'ing me to see if I would sell it can now direct their PM's to sun2002.

Yes, the betas are real working units that were put into the Sprint database, so they are the in the system for activation. Simple ESN swap, like usual.
How many are left out there, is anyone's guess.
