My new i550

I got my new i550 lucky me I live in Mexico, nonetheless I'm dissapointed with some things, the version we are getting in Mexico has no Voice Assist nor Voice Dial feature, and also we dont get the videocamera feature it only comes with camera. Besides that is the best phone I've owned its really amazing.

For those of you wondering about the firmware version here is it

S/W Version
S:i550.30 M:YD12
PDA:YD12, i550 Rel. R30CM

I was wondering if anyone could tell if there is any application that can give me the features missing the one I would like the most is the Voice Assist or Voice Dialing. I've tried with the Voice Dial apps from the treo but they just wont run.

Thanks

Que pasa?

Como se llama???

Maybe the Voice Dial or Voice Assist for the "Mexican" version of the i550 only works in "Spanish"?

I too now have an i550, and I was thinking the same thing.

I'd be happy to email the voice app, in exchange for the latest Samsung web browser (the version 1.0 that's built-in on mine is a little buggy).

FileZ to the rescue.

And like i330 is asking, I'd be interested in getting my hands on a back-up stylus and standard battery (my battery sticker says it's a 3.7V Li-ion).

Are you able to navigate links within Web Pro by just using the Directional pad? (a very "treo-like" cool feature on this phone that I love on the Samsung browser).

i330, what version of Web Pro you running these days?

Actually yes they do have accessories in here but I just called yesterday to check with them and they expect to have batteries for sale in a month and they dont have the prices yet. What they do have is the car charger. If you want anything I can get them for you and send them from texas as I happen to go there like every 2 weeks.

Anyways I would be glad if you could download the voice dial app and send it to me so that I can install it.

Heh, like a month ago i bought a 2 pack of i550 styli from www.311.com.mx for like $47 shipped, and they sent me i500 styli instead!
Plus all of the contact links on their site are dead!
Luckily i bought it on my amex, and had them reverse the charge...

Exclamation

Hi everyone,

I was eyewitness of the connection between a BT device and an samsung I550 Palm OS V 5.2.5 ,

2 months ago, A girl I knew who is owner of an I550, toke her smart phone an made some keystrokes and connected or paired a Motorola h850 Bluetooth to her i550 palm, and her made me hear music from the i550 thought the BT device.

This person didn’t tell me how did she do that, (and maybe she wont ever tell me ) , the only thing she said is that I had to search in wikipedia and gave me a secret word, ZigBee.

I have been around 2 months looking for info about blue tooth or Zigbee information regarding i550 phones, there was a blog that assure that I550 and I539 (china) have a Zigbee chip and these devices are able to use this protocol.

ZIgbee is an Wirelees technology that allow to use BT, very interesting

I know to use BT devices and I know that it works, Does someone have information about that?

Thanks friends

Now this are interesting news, maybe you should talk to that girl again and get her to tell you how to enable BT, Im sure many people would pay for that including me.

I did the search in wiki but I think we need someone with more expertise to tell us how to make this work and what app (if any is available) we can use to enable it.

Update us with any news, Im really interested.

For those who owns Samsung's i550 device in USA, where did you buy it?
I am asking, because I didn't know it was released in USA.

As for Voice Assist application, you can send me PM to me.
