Do you think this phone would work on Sprint's network and if so does it have Spanish or English?

The phone should work, pending a lock from Sprint. They could refuse to activate the phone because of incorrect or any ESN's that aren't registered on their network. I just don't see why the phone won't work, it is CDMA 1XRTT and has AMPS for analog roaming. The price is a little steep, but if I can get my hands on one, I wouldn't mind spending that much to get a working i550 on the Sprint network. It sure beats the Treo, as I don't need to use Bluetooth very often, just looking for an update to the i500 and this phone would be perfect. Good luck to all importers.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to get sprint to activate a non-sprint stamped i550. If the esn isnt in their system it wont work.
(This is besides the fact that movistar/telefonica probably wont give out the MSL)
That being said, for all you gringos, here's how you get to the i550 on the aforementioned site.
Personas>Catalogo de Equipos>Otros>Samsung i550, $680, not including tax.

Originally posted by rjmoose I would seriously pay that much if it had bluetooth and was assured that sprint would either replace it if it broke or was able to "lockline" it.
How about all of my old Sprint phones for your I550:
1 Brand New Treo 600
1 Used Treo 600
1 Used Samsung I500
1 Brand New Sanyo 6400
1 Used Nokia 6225
Oh, almost forget...I will throw in the Beatle's White Album....Deal?
I'm going to have to pass, but i appreciate the offer!

Gabe,
Does your i550 include VoiceAssist? It was the speech recognition program I worked on for the i550, but it was in English. I am wondering if they kept the english version for the spanish speaking countries or just left application out.
could one of these phones be configured to operate on Verizon? I do not use the web, and the Treo 650 does not really cut it compared to the Ky-7135 I used to use. Why is it that all the other phones are moving to a flip form except the smartphones?
