Google Mail
Thank you for posting a working proxy to use with Nweb!
However, my biggest disappointment with new proxy server, I cannot seem to access the mobile gmail site. I did clear the cache and tried to access it in a few different ways but still no go. It gives me a content not supported message.
Is anyone else having trouble with that site or has any work arounds?
Thanks!

I don't think any of these issues have to do with the proxy, but rather that these browsers don't support XHTML.
However it seems you can get into GMAIL by first logging in at http://gmail.com, then clicking on the HTML-only version link near the bottom of the response page (noactivex.html) or going to:
http://gmail.google.com/gmail?ui=html&zy=x
and the rest of Google Mobile is available at:
http://mobile.google.com or www.google.com/m/products

Gmail on nWeb always worked for me (at least for the past year). It just stopped working when the proxy went out.
I wonder if the old proxy server was able to translate the XHTML into something the browser could use??

I am really bummed now...I probably cancel the Vision service now.

That is possible, although it would imply that Webpro could not do gmail... did you ever try Webpro ? I've never seen a site that nweb could do that Webpro couldn't (they are almost the same browser), but I admit that I've never tried gmail on either til now. But I'm sure I've done Yahoo WAP on both before.

Could you login to gmail successfully ? I can.
If so, does the resulting page say "Browser Requirement: ActiveX" for the "standard interface" ? If so, it should give you the option, near the bottom of that page to go to the HTML-only interface, which is just a link to:
http://gmail.google.com/gmail?ui=html&zy=x

No, I wasn't able to login successfully. It put me in a loop requiring an ActiveX browser. I saw that link you mentioned (and I entered it manually) but it then tells me it is an unsupported browser.
It never gave me a chance to login.
Thanks for the help! (I just want to know when [or if] there will be another clamshell "smartphone")

What I did was first go to http://gmail.com to login. I think you will need to login first before the HTML-interface link will work. Try to go to http://gmail.com first.

I was able to login, but it takes me to an unsupported browser page. I then tried both clicking on the html link and entering the url you supplied above and it both cases it takes me to another page that says We've detected a problem.
Seems so strange! Now I just have my fingers crossed they will get the old proxy working again!

OK... I think I've reproduced your problem. At least I got to a state where I continually received "We've detected a problem" messages. And furthermore, once I was in that state, it was VERY difficult to get out of, and back to the state where things were working again... but I did...
I got into the "bad state" by disabling Cookies and Javascript (in the nweb Preferences menu). I went to gmail.com and after logging in, it complained about not having Cookies, so I re-enabled Cookies. Then I got the "We've detected a problem" message. I re-enabled Javascript, but that didn't help. I continued to get the bad messages. Also it would not let me relogin, even if I tried to go to gmail.com . Finally...
I'm not sure all the steps below are absolutely necesary, but they are what I did:
1) Clear nweb's cache (probably not necessary)
2) Soft reset PalmOs (probably not necessary)
3) Entered nweb, Disabled Cookies again (I think this is necessary)
4) Opened gmail.com ... Now I was able to start a relogin, but before that...
5) Re-enabled Cookies
6) Logged In to gmail, making sure I did not check the "Remember me on this computer".
7) I was able to login, it gave me the Browser No ActiveX page.
 Click on HTML-only view.
9) Success! I'm in gmail again.
Hope this helps... I think the basic problem is that once a Cookie is stored that contains the bad state info, you will continually loop in the bad state. So you have to break the loop by disabling Cookies.

Sucess
Boy, I had even gone to the extent of clearing the cookies manually in Filez as well as disabling cookies and javascript before the last post I did.
But your procedure did work and the difference may have been not checking "remember me."
Either way I don't care. Thanks a bunch!

Wow, Sprint oughta put you folks on the payroll. I noticed this problem this weekend, and was getting increasingly irritated with the service as each day passed. Sunday, I called Sprint "Customer Support" from the road and got a dead end (needed another line to talk while diagnosing phone). Stopped in a Sprint store to see if they could help...after being told to "have a seat and wait" as several employees milled around, checked their messages, etc., I sat for 10 minutes, decided I'd had enough, and left. Time is money, strike 2, where's the nearest Verizon store? Called again from home, once i got there. It was a comedy of errors...20 minutes on hold, then a few more as i got shifted to a more advanced tech, then 10 more after they realized "Oh, you have a PDA!" After over an hour on the phone they determined they could not help me...put in a "trouble ticket," and said i would be contacted to resolve the issue "within 36 hours." That was about 7 PM last night...the clock is ticking.
I should have known to just check here first!
This latest round (very much reminded me of what i went through with Sprint "Customer Service" when Blazer went away) has me so angry, it is the last straw for Sprint. I have already been by a Verizon Store, and checked online at T-Mobile and Virgin. I have given up on ever seeing another Palm phone, but it is really, really dismaying what choices are out there (or more correctly aren't) when you need something without a camera (not allowed where I work). That, and my plan from Sprint is exactly what I need and no other provider can even come close (grandfathered into the perfect plan for me...not even Sprint offers it any more...$35 for 3000 minutes and unlimited web). I will hate to lose what I have, but if Sprint doesn't come through in the alottted time, or the fix identified here gives out, I'm dumping them after being loyal for about 10 years. Enough is enough. I'll probably have to do something ridiculous like get a simple phone and a basic plan from Virgin, then get a Crackberry and data only from T-Mobile. Will cost a bit more, but seems like the closest thing to what i have now...except it's 2 devices instead of one...and not Palm...sigh.
I wish Sprint could get their act together, but truth is we are probably a tiny, tiny part of teir business (and one they probably would rather not have to bother with if this weren't all a numbers game), so I'm not holding my breath.
Anyway, thanks for the fix! And if anyone has any good ideas about a close substitute (maybe tales from folks who've jumped ship), I'd appreciate it!
